Title: Epic battles waterloo french imperial guard
Post by: steve501 on May 22, 2023, 09:50:12 PM
Hi All
I've just started an Epic Battles French Imperial Guard army for Waterloo and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any suitable figures in 15mm which are suitable. I want to add some additional officers  sappers mounted General, marine officers etc
Any advice would be great, this is my first sortie into this scale

Many thanks
Steve

If you have started off with the actual Warlord Epic plastics then they are 13.5mm and 15mm won't be compatible. Kallistra 12mm might fit?  Although I think the Warlord range is expanding all the time.

There is a bloke who does commission work on Epic and he says Chariot 15mm are a good match. Here is a link to one of his pages that mentions it.

Hi All

I've tried the Chariot miniatures and the foot figures are still alittle large. Do the 15mm minifigs match
Can anyone recommend any 12.5mm Napoleonic figures

Cheers
Steve

The 15mm minifigs might do the trick.

Here is a size comparison:

There are different generations of Minifigs, but like Ray, they are the figures that come to mind.  I will add, Valley Boy has an excellent collection of French from a number of producers - Minifigs at the small end of the scale to AB  Miniatures at the larger end (18mm).  In their own units this is not a problem, but certainly will not mix in a single unit.
Older miniature ranges, even if slightly bigger should look OK, even if they are a little taller.
For a commander a slighhtly larger miniature might be OK - more heroic????

I needed some Austrian artillery crews and some Grenadiers. I ordered some 3D printed figures from TayloredFigures GB on Etsy and was impressed with the quality. That said, they are different in some ways to the Warlord game epic figures. Firstly they are slightly slighter, they lack the heft of warlord minis. The detail is amazing and the poses are full of character but a sword, for example, is the width of a human hair! The miniature Realms guy on you tube discusses the need to increase the scale of some details, scabbards, reins etc to make the painting of the figures easier. I ended up converting some extra artillery crews from the French sets and having a few 3D printed minis made the job a lot easier. They combined well on the bases. I made some bicorns from green stuff. So maybe you could try that. It does take a bit of nerve to start cutting and changing those warlord minis. My French caribaniers are now Austrian cuirassiers! Good luck with your project.

The minifigs order arrived abd the figures are a good match. I wish the Warlord Games would release more Napoleonic figures, has anyone heard any rumours
