Anyone seen these? They look just the guys to provide a soundtrack for your swashbuckling. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3520/4069550861_5061156a67_o.jpg (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3520/4069550861_5061156a67_o.jpg) I plan to grab one of each at Fall in this weekend. Who doesn't a 28mm Voltaire?!?

Yes, I there is already a post on these but the images you found are better.

Much nicer pics! Definitely on my wish list. I have a similar set of musicians in 54mm from Phoenix. It's interesting that cellos from this period were simply held off the ground. Nowadays, they have that central spike that extends to alter the height.
-
Take the cellist and one of the fiddle players and they wouldn't take much converting into a nice little Lucky Jack and Stephen vignette, would they, eh?

Why didn't I think of that?!
-
I like the Frederick one.

Take the seated Bach figure and a suitable oar or paddle and you can have an 18th C gent rowing a boat or poling a punt.
The Voltaire figure is glorious. I've always been fond of his dying words. Asked by an attendant priest whether he woud renounce the devil, Voltaire replied 'this is no time to be making enemies'. :D
Must ask Nic whether he would contemplate a Candide set, Pangloss, Cunegonde etc etc. That would be fun.
-
If I know Hammers, he'd be more interested in a Justine or Les 120 Journées de Sodome set. ;)

You'd have to have a few Cunegondes. Young, beautiful, old, haggish, two buttocks, one buttock etc etc.
Maybe a garden set for the conclusion?
-
Not my period, but the figures are really tempting ... ;D
-
Thanks for pointing this out. I will definitely will be getting these!
-
I picked all of them up at Fall In along with my new order of French cavalry and ragged artillery for the French Revolution range. If anything they are even better in the flesh. My friend already suggested a use for them in Sharp Practice games. One of the musicians is a spy and has an important message in code hidden in his sheet music!

That reminds me a Nicolas Le Floch's adventure... Nicolas is a 18th century french policeman in a serie of novels written by Jean-François Parot.

There are also 4 TV movies by now.

Thanks for that. I think I found my next series of novels to read!

Eureka in Aus or fighting 15s in the UK
-
Although a few sets have been sold at cons, they're not listed on the Eureka site yet.
I've actually had an email exchange with Ian Marsh of Fighting 15s (Eureka's UK stockist) this week about this very topic. In answer to when he'll be stocking them he replied "Sometime later this year (first half I hope). I have just emailed an order for them to Nic at Eureka so I can have them in stock when they are officially released."
Personally speaking, soon isn't quite soon enough for these gorgeous minis!

I still haven't painted my string quartet up, but Fred and CPE Bach are finished and the figures are fantastic. They do have one flaw though. Part of the music stand is extremely thin. Learn a lesson from me and replace the thin central section with thin wire before painting it!
That reminds me, I've got a backlog of recently painted Eureka stuff I need to get photographed over the weekend.
-
I finally got the camera out, so without further ado I bring you the sensational duet of Freddie and Carl!

The dogs sometimes join in on the chorus.
-
Nice work once again Aaron… I like the way you painted the bases.
I like the dogs too. It reminds me of my own dog when I was a teenager and I played saxophone… he was never a great fan of that… lol
-
Good job Aaron, really nice figures! They have to sell them online ASAP!
-
I bought these, but I also got a companion piece for them...

I cannot wait to start painting them up!
-
Ooh, thanks I had never seen that! If I grab her and finish painting Eureka's string quartet I'll be able to have a battle of the bands!
Thanks calimero and elhion. I'm not sure when these might appear on the Eureka site, but a kind email to Nic might get them into your hands a bit sooner.
