Title: (Commercial) Stargrave Scavengers. New plastic box set.
Post by: nicknorthstar on June 21, 2023, 06:09:47 PM
The next set of plastic figures for Stargrave, the sci-fi skirmish game from Osprey, are the Scavengers.
There will be a pre-order campaign from North Star for these figures starting this weekend.
I'll let you know here when it begins, but to make sure you don't miss out, and to take advantage of the Early Bird offers, join our email newsletter: https://us5.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=addf114e407ae6b960460a70e&id=03fee180e2 (https://us5.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=addf114e407ae6b960460a70e&id=03fee180e2)

Robots man....Robots. Let me design them! Seriously. This has been one of my 2 miniature wishes for ages.

Yes, a robot set would definitely be awesome. You can just never have too many droids and robotic arms and legs would be very useful for cyborg conversions…

They look really, really useful  8)

Just think of the possibilities when combined with other Stargrav and Frostgrave sets...  :o

And I can easily see these working as Star Wars scum, or Stalkers in the Zone too.

They look great, look like they might fit in well with some of the Copplestone scavengers.

Take a look to the Colony 87 figures, my friend.

Pig Iron Kolony Rebels should also work with them

Juan, exactly what I am asking for, and I've seen a couple of these somewhere. Perhaps Crooked Dice, itself. As it is Nick's thread, I'll await his response. He may have something in the pipeline.

We don't have any specific plans for Sci-Fi civilians in the near future.

We've got a couple of kit bashing deals in the Scavenger pre-order program.

2) https://www.northstarfigures.com/prod.php?prod=17369 (https://www.northstarfigures.com/prod.php?prod=17369)

North Star's Dean was having a good go at mix and matching the Scavenger and Frostgrave plastic figures, see them in the photo below.

Used the pre-order deals as an excuse to order all the stargrave bits I'd been putting off buying. I do think the scavenger sets are going to be an incredible useful set to fill out my sci-fi table!

I know there is no civilian sets planned, but it would be awesome if we saw some spare arms/hands for converting some non-gun wielding folks though!

Mallo,

I think that what Mallo (and I) would like are some arms within the basic sets that would allow you to build a guy who is carrying a couple of cases, or a wrench and a "tricorder" etc. The current sets all have arms that have those things - but they're all in their left hands. All the right hands are full of guns, knives etc making it impossible to build a couple of unarmed maintenance guys / bag carriers using bits from the basic boxes. And the link you provided doesn't help with either because that's just more heads and guns (which is nice but not what we're looking for).

Yup, I would second (third?) that

It doesn't have to be the full arm, even just some right hands holding things, so I could do a hand swap. Anvil has a few such hands, but I think most of them are also left hands

I agree.

As a lefty, I've been wanting swords in left hands and shields in the right one for decades. So I'll join the chorus and repectfully request a couple of spare right hands holding nothing, so I can take it from there and do my converting as part of  the neglected 10% I am :D

The figures have just arrived, and very nice they look too :D

The bodies are generic enough that I think they will find a use in my post-apocalypse plans. Some of the weapons will work as well, although I do want to see if the Warlord WW2 sprue arms work with them (at worst it will be hand swaps)

Slight grumble about the lack of slotta tabs on the metal figures, but that has been an unfortunate theme common to all the Stargrave metals :(
