Hey there,
I am just wondering if there is an option to delete one's own account or deactivate it? Or do I have to contact a moderator for that?
-
Sure:

Cheers Ray!
Oh nevermind, if I follow that path I only get to download profile data? ???
Odd!
Nevermind I'll just see what I can find.

Ray, you have moderator access, the rest of us don't have this ability under user access level. It is one of the issues that cropped up when Murph left that has never been resolved.

Oops!
That's true. Although my moderator privileges are very limited and do not apply to the general forum.
Personally, I would just leave the account dormant.

I've asked on the mod board as it may be an administrator task.

Thank you Elk and Ray as well as robh! I might just leave it dormant, that way I can just pop in should I have time for wargames and the like again! Thank you all.

Having been an admin on another forum, deleting an account is the worst thing to do, as it removes all the posts the user (you) made, which can really screw with threads, especially ones you started and/or posted a lot to.
What I do if I want to permanently leave a forum/site is remove any personal information there (signatures, "About", etc) then change the email to something random (either myself or asking for mod/admin help) and then changing the password to something completely random.

Thank you Darkson, but I figured I'll just leave the account about. That way I can pop in when I have time and not use it when I am busy for whatever reason. I think that is easier.
But thank you for considering it and replying! :)
