I'm building WW2 French from the Wargames Atlantic French Infantry box.
Can someone tell me what the bits to the left of the canteens and below the Adrain helmet heads are?

Also, how common were the WW1 canteens in 1940? (there are no separate WW2 canteens on the sprues)

M2 gaz mask, from march 1916 to the end of the war (in adjunction with a second one from patern 1917)
Totally out dated for WWII.

Thanks Paco!
I'll have to look for a suitable canteen replacement then.
Or did you only mean the gas mask containers are unsuitable for WW2?

Hello,
Canteens are good for both WWI and WWII, it is gaz mask that are not !
M2 gaz mask (those you show on your picture on the left of canteens)were in use from 1916 to 1918.
During WWII, the only respirator box for french army is" ANP 31" (for normal protection system patern 31). It is a kind of rectangular bag.
