Title: Anyone know where to find...
Post by: Daeothar on 12 July 2023, 09:51:14 AM
... a 28mm miniature dressed somewhat like this character here:

I've been looking all over, but I'm not at home in this period and am not aware of all available ranges. Besides, it's quite niche I'd say.

Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree and I should be better off harassing the Victorian players, but here we are. Any suggestions? I'll only be needing the one...

Thanks! He's cool, but a bit too rough around the edges for the look I'm going for.

To please my daughter, I'm doing up a Frozen themed warband for Frostgrave and Hans up there is the only one I have difficulty sourcing.

So he needs to be proper snooty and posh  lol

Just a punt but Eureka might have something in their Comic Victorian range.

So you want him armed? I'd look at the Napoleonic ranges from Front Rank sold by Gripping beast. Some of their officer figures would probably do. They are sold individually but I think have a fairly steep minimum P&P. They also produce several packs of Napoleonic civilians.

I'm going to have to check if I can field characters mounted, because I spotted the perfect mini that needs just a hand-swap in General Robert Craufurd in the British personalities section @ Gripping Beast!

In fact, thanks all for your suggestions so far; I've already spotted quite a few minis I've decided I now need... :D

+++EDIT+++ Scratch that. I found an even better match (on foot) in the Civilian section. The guy in the top right will be perfect with a simple hand swap I reckon!

I don't know if you looked at the Napoleonic Spanish ranges. Many of their guerillas are in civilian clothing or a mix of military and civilian and may be very suitable for what you want. Front Rank do these as do Perry Miniatures ...plus lots of others.

Is there nothing in Northstars Silver Bayonet Range? Seems like the officer in this Spanish set would work with a head swap

I would look at Freebooter or Hasslefree

https://hfminis.co.uk/product/privateer-godwin-resin/
Or other pirate ranges

Again; thanks for the suggestions everyone; much appreciated!  8)

I've gone ahead and ordered the pack of four civilian gentlemen I posted the picture of, since that one mini is spot on!

Now to print Olaf and Marshmallow...  :D
