Title: A Battle of the Alma
Post by: Emir of Askaristan on 31 July 2023, 07:23:25 AM
I had friends round for a game on Saturday. Did a "bathtubbed Alma" using modified Rebels and Patriots and Neil Thomas sized based and his scenario from 19th Century Wargaming.

Great game, although the Brits failed to take the Russian position. I think the Russian guns were a little strong and I'd pare them back a bit next time.

I've worked out a Balaclava scenario but need some heavy brigade, Russian Cav and Turks.

Looks like a great game Stuart. And hold on, what’s that, surely not sunshine. Haven’t seen that for a few weeks 🤣🤣🤣

Gloriously sunny day in Aberdeenshire....19C....
Far too fine to be inside, so perfect for a game in the garden.

That all looks grand.  I like how you have recreated the terrain.

Thanks folks... polystyrene carved with a cutter under a Geek Villain fleece mat.

Have to say I'm very impressed with the mat too. First fleece one and I'd certainly buy another over mouse mat, light fabric or pvc. It drapes better than all of them.

Yes, a great product.  I bought one and then got another two.  Very easy to store as well.
