I came up with the idea for this year’s Gothenburg Gamers entry for Claymore 2023 in Edinburgh.I’d bandied this idea about for a wee while and slowly put all the bits together starting with some 16th/17th century Spaniards I bought from Black Angus. I used Border Reivers as the opposition as I would imagine that they would be called on to evict the Spaniards from the premises. The story pretext was based on the legend of the San Juan de Sicilia which anchored in Tobermory bay with the pretext of effecting repairs, helping the local laird with a difference of opinion with his neighbour.Welcome to Scotland. The tale culminated with the ship blowing up with the blame falling on the English. This was my take on that story. Here are a few pics of the display and game.

Argh ! Another game I missed because I couldn't make Claymore!
I've being doing a lot of research into the Spanish involvement after the Armada in Scotland as a sort of post script to my Marian civil war material.
Great looking game!

I enjoyed not only the scenario and the spectacle of the game but also the chat I had with a gentleman at the stand who may even have been you, mothman.
Lots of good looking games at the show, I included a link to the photos I took in a post about the show, yours stood out even in such august company.
