A game of What a Tanker.
Three players, Ian (Westbury), Bob (Flatpack) & Peter (Me!)
Dicing for rolls resulted in me as the German (Tiger tank) & Bob & Ian as Russians.
Each Russian diced off against me, with the winner picking the Russian tank.
Available were:-T26, T34-76, T34-76, T34-85, KV1 & a Churchill Mk III.
The fact that Bob got the KV1 & Ian the T34-85 should tell you that I lost both throws. :D
To show German tactical superiority the Russians both deployed, then I deployed.
269 & 270 = The peaceful Regbigrad (Rugby Town) before the tanks arrive.
271 & 272 = Ian crosses the stream to close with the enemy.
273 = 'The Enemy' My Tiger.
274 = Ian takes care to keep the wood between him & me.
276= Meanwhile Bob has advanced his KV1, but his shooting has no noticable effect
on the heavily armoured Tiger
-
277 = The Tiger trundles on.
279, 280, 281 = Ian's T34-85 stalks the Tiger. He is behind me, & Bob to my face.
The dreaded War on two Fronts!
282,284,285,286= The firing continues. I inflict some damage on the KV1, but Bob
manages to recover this. I take damage, but two to one results
in me not being able to repair. With limited options I reverse into
a nook between buildings, hoping to fight it out.
-
288,289,290 = Down to 4, from 6, command dice, the throw gives me no chance to shoot.
I have to make a run for it. To my usual poor dice throws was added a -1"
per movement dice penalty (earlier damage). Instead of showing the Soviets
a clean pair of heels I merely showed the T34 my arse!
Ian took full advantage & poured fire into it.
His four hits was bad enough, but needing 5s or 6s to save these I...
failed to get a single save despite throwing TEN dice. I await my arrest for
(once again) breaking the Law of Averages!
lol lol lol
291,292,293 = Bob's KV1 heading off in search of more Pz VIs. No doubt shouting the
Russian equivalent of, 'Here Kitty, Kitty !!!'
:D
287 = The unused Soviet armour...They didn't need them. :'( :'( :'(

Disappointed with you Peter! You should at least have taken ONE of them with that beautiful little panzer II fella?
Great looking little games though.

James, if you had been there I would have. It was in my original set up (Three Russians
against the Tiger) to make the Tiger crew Veterans. i.e. +1 on initiative. I lost move
initiative on two occasions to BOTH Ruskies by...ONE !!!!
I hate it when that happens!!! ;D
It happens far too often to me. :-[

Fun was had, b***ocks talked as well as coffee & cakes (Made by Helen, my wife, not by me)
A good day. :)

Great looking little games though.
Things got so desperate towards the end that I considered ramming the T34, only to find
I didn't even have the right dice to do that! :-[
Fun game of chase me, chase me.
Thanks Bob...Comrade, Tovarich????

Superior Soviet Socialist training and the implementation of our 5 minute plan meant that we hunted down the invading Tiger with skill and daring ;) or at least that's what Pravda reported :)
-
Careful stalking which included driving right past each other eventually resulted in 'Tiger, Tiger, burning bright'
The Order of Lenin was duly awarded to the brave T34 commander
-
Ugh. Oh well - you can't win them all... 8)
