I thought I’d share some of my Cthulhu miniature painting. No real purpose to my collection, I do play Mansions of Madness and at least own a copy of CoC7e (even if I have played CoC in at least 30 years…).
Anyway I hope this is okay to post here and that get some enjoyment out of seeing some these classic and modern miniatures
RAFM King in Yellow, his little nude follower and a sign of Hastur.

RAFM Dunwich Horror - have seen some lovely examples on this forum already but here is my take
(https://i.postimg.cc/wBbFtp4p/IMG-4557.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/06D73LqW)
-
Grenadier Nyarlothotep - still available from Mirliton.one day I’ll sort out his base

-
Fenris Games do some lovely Shoggoths - these are from one of my “red phases” lol

-
Last one for now (lest I bore you) - also from Grenadier/Mirliton Tsathoggua
(https://i.postimg.cc/wMc9x0qS/IMG-4542.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/30RsnjDB)
-
Great stuff 8) I particularly like Tsathoggua.
I have 7th ed too, but I have only played "Alone against the Flames," the solo adventure. You should try it, it is quite fun.
-
Yes, I played the solo adventure which is included in the starter set - and I did quite enjoy. Also bought a copy of Alone against the frost, both very Fighting Fantasy in style - which is a good thing!
-
Excellent work. I'm particularly taken by the Shoggoths. For some reason I've only got Deep Ones for my Pulp / Cthulhu stuff. Must sort that out.
-
Very nice work; always love seeing those classic miniatures.
-
Thanks all. Have many more to share which are ‘official’ Cthulhu miniatures. Question would it be okay to post pictures of the Citadel Gothic Horror and Night Horrors range here or is there a more appropriate sub-forum?

Fenris games also do a “colossal” Shoggoth which I plan to do at some point. Meanwhile I did do a set of the Grenadier ones in blue.

WoW!!
I love that nyarlathotep!

Lovely sculpt isn’t it? I have the RAFM sculpt and the Fenris sculpt still to paint up, but the grenadier one is nice because it is relatively simple in design terms.
-
This is a more modern sculpt but still great. A gnoph-keh from Fenris games

Great stuff :)

What a great collection!
-
Very nice! I enjoy seeing some of my old Call of Cthulhu sculpts still getting painted and used on the tabletop.
-
Love these old miniatures. Mine of course were bought when I was very, very young which is probably when Bob sculpted them. lol

Bob you are a legend as are your Cthulhu sculpts! I’m working on painting the Miskatonic University expeditions to South America and the Mekong at the moment. Hoping to post these later in September.

Another Fenris Games piece. This one is catchily titled “Cthulhu Cult summoning floor” and was an absolute joy to paint

“Proto Shoggoth attacking” - I think still available from EM4, but originally Grenadier?

Another RAFM mini - this time a Night Gaunt. RAFM has another Night Gaunt on its site but this is the original and best of the two

Here is my collection of Citadel CC1 Gothic Horror PC and NPCs - released to support Call of Cthulhu RPG but not officially authorised by Chaosium. Have all except for ‘teenager’ which doesn’t seem to have gone into production despite being advertised

Brilliant! They bring back so many good memories.
-
Those are great! Your painting style works very well to bring out the best in these classic figures.
-
These are superb, excellent work 8)
-
What a collection! So cool!
-
I love it!
-
I echo all the previous comments - a great collection, wonderfully painted
-
Cheers all. Happy they have gone down well - so many great painters on this site. Have a few more finished bits and pieces to post, but might have to wait until next week.

Hello, one more set to share. These are RAFM miniatures- I believe they are supposed to represent player characters at different stages of their careers… as dark powers slowly consume their minds… Priest and Nun!

This whole thread is excellent, but your Gothic Horror collection is a marvel! I have exactly 7 of them, but I'll get there some day!
Keep showing your work, please. Great stuff!

Thanks for enlightening me! I have painted every single miniature of these, but wasn't aware they were from one set and never had the idea that they could be meant to be three-stage-characters. I had painted them at different occasions and for different purposes, therefore neither me nor anybody else would suspect them to be the same persons when assembled next to each other... lol

You've dome some amazing work here; what a beautiful collection.

I think the ghouls might also be a similar set up. There are three of them in the “unarmed ghouls” set that seems to progress from one with hat, coat and trousers, a halfway figure with trousers and a skull and then a full on transformation.
Love the copplestone figures you have painted, and the paint work is very smooth transitions on all of them.

Thanks - much of it is to do with the sculpts - RAFMs old line, Fenris, Citadel, and even Grenadier are in my opinion amongst the best on the market.
-
These are first three Deep-ones I’ve painted (RAFM). I have also just bought some of Bob Murch’s Crucible Crush / Masters of the Devil Reef Deep-ones and the style is still very similar - just a lot larger than these guys. Hopefully they will integrate well once I’ve painted them all up (to come)

Still have two more figures to paint to finish this set, but here is the RAFM Miskatonic University Expedition up the Mekong (ignore the brick wall and let your imagination wander to south east Asian jungle)…

crikey, what a collection. Brilliant!
-
Finally finished the Mekong set. Now to finish the MU trek up the Amazon set…

Your collection is amazing, the paintwork is brilliant! Do you game with them at all?
Re: the Deep Ones, I think Bob Murch actually sculpted the old RAFM stuff too? :)
-
Sadly not wargamed since my twenties (ex-GW store staff). We play a fair bit of Mansions of Madness but so far none of my models have replaced the plastic minis in the box sets on the table top.. For the most part I am collecting and painting for my own enjoyment.
RAFM old ones are indeed Bob Murch, can’t get enough of his sculpting style (old and new).
-
One more classic RAFM/Bob Murch set finished: “Miskatonic University Expedition up the Amazon”

Lovely work on these! Need some scenic images in the jungle :)
-
You really bring these classic figures to life. Fantastic work.
-
Great work!! :-* :-*

Finally finished - Cthulhu 28s “Master of the Devil Reef”. Now awaiting the Kickstarter delivery for the second set!
-
Lovey stuff! I've had to stop buying Cthulhu minis until I actually some of the (insert stupidly large number here) I've got already...
-
I should follow your lead… did a sort today and my lead pile is never ending….
-
Those look great! And you’re making progress on the lead pile, even if new arrivals show up from tantalizing kickstarters. Keep on painting!
-

Never!!
I picked up my first CoC figures in the early 90's. I thought they would be good for D&D undead. I actually stopped gaming by the mid-80s so I never got around to painting them until about 3 months ago. A couple years ago I got on a Lovecraft/Mythos reading kick and had a sudden desire to paint the figures that I had just read about. Glad I had a small collection to begin with and have been adding to it ever since. I know I will "loose interest" in them in a year or so and go back to another renewed interest. But I also know that ultimately I will return to them again. That just seems to be how my hobby interests go. I have a pile of D&D, 40K, and War Hammer figures painted and unpainted. Not to mention tanks, aircraft, and trains.
-
I certainly agree with all the others... Your collection is amazing! Great paint work! I will be looking closely at a lot of your figures as I have many of the same and always need inspiration!
-
wow, great figures and painting in this thread.

Mutual admiration- your thread has lots of inspiration for me as well. Not always easy to find painted examples and yours offer some good inspiration for me as well!

Thanks - hopefully will be able to keep adding to the collection and keep improving
