You may remember The Good the Bad and The Weird a Korean film from a few years ago - Netflix next month has a series The Song of Bandits set in the same period/place
Manchuria 1920.

Looks interesting.

Ooh neat.
Hopefully they'll be able to complete the story in the 2-3 seasons all Netflix shows get before cancellation. lol

I've seen the first episode, lots of action schlock and tv drama but the historical bones seem solid. However I did notice that it's set in 1915, and an arms dealer has an MP40...
Not bad, not great, very Korean (insofar that it's very graphic and has silly over the top action) the dialogue is oddly paced and it has a very excessive gun-fu anti-hero but eh, I'll watch another episode or two before I make my final verdict. Don't expect a serious historical drama, but it was fun enough.
That MP40 though bothered me a bit ....

Yeah, there are a few glaring issues with the MP-40. Other than that it is a fun watch to be sure. Definitely in the Pulp camp with the over the top action sequences, but lots of fun.

A lot of martial arts action that owes more than a little to the "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" line of movies. Great fun though, and a window into an interesting period of which most of us in the West weren't aware. Good material for Back of Beyond scenarios.
