Title: Preview Of Pulp Figures/Crucible Crush Nobgoblins
Post by: Bob Murch on September 04, 2023, 06:59:00 PM
We are calling these little creeps The Nobgoblins. They are naked goblin warriors, or orcs or troglodytes if you prefer, inspired by those shadowy creatures one often saw in the margins of Frazetta paintings and other retro fantasy imagery from back in the misty past. There are 3 sets of the large warriors, 4 figs per set and one set of 5 little guys.

The ones shown here have metal weapons, painted as bronze in the colour photos, but a stone age weapon set will also be an option.

We are getting the kickstarter together now but don't have a launch date as of yet.

These are terrific! The Frazetta influence comes through loud and clear, and they out-de-underpant even Tom Meier's classic giant goblins!

As a certain song goes, "well-hung, snow-white tan"  lol

I am not a big fan of orcs or goblins but these are brilliant.

There is a definite call-back to Tom’s classic Ral Partha range. They were some of the first miniatures that I ever owned.

Oh no.
I need these.
Lots of them.
They call to me...

Those poor creatures look as if they're dying of anaemia; too weak to be dangerous in combat.

I have no use for these and I'm planning to sell projects due to space restrictions, but that being said, I love these and the Frazetta vibe and they will be hard to resist.

Frazetta indeed; the first thing that came to my mind when I saw them was the Fire and Ice movie! It's the posing as well as their look 8)

They're really awesome and even though I have no direct use for them, they are now on 'the list'... :D

Love the Frazetta feel and I really love the ears and head shape that are reminiscent of Harry Porter house elves and the Mangalores from Fifth Element.

Lovely! I'm definitely interested in these even if I don't have any use for them.

Re. The anemia comment above which confuses me. Here is one of the Nobgoblins beside a 28mm scale human for a size comparison.

The human is pink enough to believe there's blood inside his skin. Btw, I had and continue to have no intention of being rude about your models, and I'm sorry if I sounded that way.

Ah, I see what you were saying now. The purple goons do look a little bloodless I admit.

I like their simple design, with all my enthusiasm for painting, antagonist rank&file being easy to paint is always a big help for a project. (Applies to protagonists too, if one makes a Tribe of the Purple Wiener warband :) )

I'm also reminded of your fabulous old RAFM orcs. I bought some of those recently, and they're just great - perfect companions for the Citadel Fantasy Tribe orcs. The new fellows look like they might work well alongside them - similar builds if fewer clothes!
