Title: Visiting Palo Alto and Resaca de la Palma
Post by: PBR Streetgang on September 08, 2023, 11:46:24 PM
After finding myself in McAllen, Texas unexpectedly, I decided to visit the sites of the first two battles of the Mexican American War. While a brief visit, the trip meant a lot for me because I had spent a lot of time researching the battles and collecting the armies to ultimately game Palo Alto. It is a fairly small visitor center but I was pleasantly surprised to see a small display filled with 15mm miniatures and Buck Surdu's Santa Anna Rules! Can anyone figure out the manufacturers of these figures? Maybe Musket Miniatures or even old Frontier? More pictures on my blog linked above. Thanks for taking the time to check it out.

Thank you for posting this! I am also collecting armies for Palo Alto/RdlP. This would be a dream trip for me.

I was sorry to read in your blog that Bill Moreno has passed.

I can't be sure about the figures. Mine come from Eureka and Old Glory. The Mexicans did remind me of OG, but hard to tell.

Excellent! I have to visit those some day too. Would be a great (if very long) road trip!
