Title: GF9 Aliens: Another glorious day in the Corps
Post by: Michi on September 19, 2023, 09:06:40 AM: I painted a commission of miniatures from the basic boardgame (7 characters and 16 alien warriors from the ALIENS movie). They're multipart injection moulded plastic models which have to be cut off, cleaned and glued. I admit that the Prodos Games AvP miniatures were much nicer, but for boadgame miniatures these are above standard, I'd say.

I'm not familiar with the GF9 game; are these the only characters in the box, or do they offer a full complement? I mean; no Hicks or Apone?

The beauty shots with the terrain are awesome btw!

I don't own the game, but it seems that the characters of the basic game are limited to these few and there are 3 expansions with more of the USCM and W-Y corporation personnel (Marines and Carter Burke/ alien queen with power loader and Bishop + alternative Ripley/ dropship pilots and four more alien warriors), .

Dropship pilots Ferro and Spunkmeyer seem not to be present in any of these boxes though.

My only suggestion is to build them one at a time (or at least assemble the head and body before moving on to the next). It might be worth also keeping a note on what head you use (each body has two head options). Alternatively, you could use all the bodies on two sprues but the heads only from one (I say head, they include part of the body so only work with the matching legs).

I found the two I have assembled almost trouble free, the only issues were some of the clean up on the spines and getting the tail to align correctly. The tail might make storage difficult.

I second all of the above. Make sure to avoid mixing different lettered heads and bodies (mind letters on sprues, e.g. head A, body A). Remove all flash thoroughly before assembly, particularly on the rectangular "spines".
