Contracting Trouble: Force on Force

Intel - An SUV carrying two civilian contractors was hit by gunfire as it moved through a neighbourhood in one of the City's red zones. The contractors are injured but alive.

The contractors have held the small group of insurgent gunmen who attacked their vehicle at bay for 15 mins but more armed men have been spotted converging on the damaged SUV.

A section of British Infantry are in the vicinity. They have been tasked to locate the contractors and escort them to safety.

A great setup - really claustrophobic for an attacker, and the flat roof tops create some many potential ambush spots.

Last Question.

"Irregular Actions/Reactions" RB p113 states that such units may only React once per turn.

Ok, I get that but it also goes on to say that [irregulars] "may only move OR fire once per turn".

Again that's clear enough but is that correct, it's not been errated etc?

Thanks

Black Rover Down....
Very tight setup, looks like a fun scenario.

That is how we play it. I really forces you to think about if you want to react or not.

A few photos from my first FoF game yesterday with Roger Gerrish Karl Tebbutt Mike Bradford . The guys had played FoF a little years ago but not properly - their words.

After a slow opening round involving a Leaderless Insurgent RPG reacting to a British movement, which in turn triggered Overwatch by the supporting British Infantry we started to motor through
In the end the British managed to extract both contractors but suffered two seriously injured casualties and a lightly wounded soldier. So only a marginal win for the Regulars.

I was concerned that I wouldn't have enough reinforcements but the constant recycling of figures worked well.

I absolutely loved the game and will be playing Matt WG  next week, doing the Falklands mission from the RB using his collection of figures.

Yes, irregulars may move and/or fire in a turn, but may only do each once in each turn.  If they fire in their activation, they may not do so as a reaction, for example.

That's a lot of insurgents!  How did the British/contractors fare?

The British achieved their objective but at some cost.

I really like the idea of scenarios that are not necessarily balanced and yet are countered n the Results table.
