Welcome to the Competition with...a peel. ;)

Good luck, the more the merrier.

Good luck! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with! :)

Had hard time deciding what to build but settled on a windmill. Less European traditional, more modern American west. Still at rough planning stage and a trip to craft store tomorrow.
-
Started. First cut out some paper in the shape of the sides, then lay down some fireplace matches and craft sticks with some glue to get the sides.

A western windmill is a great idea.
-
Glued the side top and bottom supports to get the basic structure. Made the top platform (pretty square too). Now starting the support truss work (had a couple different tries before finding the right angles, more or less).

Next will be finish all the truss and making the base. Still need a plan for the actual wind fan parts.

Looks like you're off to a good start Pete.
-
That'll be useful for a bunch of settings. From Wild West settings to some more rural american areas in the 1920s to 1930s!
Great stuff, Pete!

Got the base cut and the support trusses all done. With the off cuts from those made a fence panel. Spent a couple days trying to figure out the actual windmill part and digging through odd parts and abandoned craft projects. Finally got something mocked up with tape.

Last step is the fan and tail so hope i don't run out of superglue. This will be down to the wire for me.

Great looking structure. I think I am going to have to make one for my western town once I get back to that project.

Attached the rotary arm pieces together and glued to tower top

Only remaining part is the tail which will just be some kind of simple shape and then final painting. I haven't attached the tower or vertical drive to the base to make painting easier but the fit is good.

This came together splendidly, can't wait to see the painted version. 8)

Done and pics taken. Just need to make a composite

Submitted final photo. Best of luck to everyone
