I was in Ikea yesterday and noticed that they have a new plastic mini Christmas tree called Vinterfint.
https://www.ikea.com/ch/en/p/vinterfint-artificial-potted-plant-with-pot-in-outdoor-christmas-tree-green-00552925/ (https://www.ikea.com/ch/en/p/vinterfint-artificial-potted-plant-with-pot-in-outdoor-christmas-tree-green-00552925/)
Note the pot is 6cm diameter so don't get confused by the website.
I bought one and took it out of the pot. The tree is 130mm from ground to top.
It will be perfect as a conifer for 28mm gaming, being about 7 metres or 24ft tall.
With a bit of brute force I separated the tree from the pot. There is a circular soil piece which will actually work as a base for the tree.
I used hot melt glue to re-join the tree to the base and bingo - I have a nice conifer tree.
I am very tempted to buy a lot more.

Cheers Mick! Will check that out locally. Glad to hear no Allen key required.

I think that looks very reasonable. :D

Bit o' sticker shock this side of the world. The '12cm' version is $15.00 AUD. Bizarrely the 6cm version is only $2.00 AUD. Still, it's better than the 12cm version with a few cheap LEDs attached. Ikea thinks that's $35 worth. ::)

The 6 cm one is the right one. If you see it in real life the tree is 13cm tall and the pot is 6cm.

Only the Swedes would give the measurements for the fucking pot. lol
Thanks for that, I'll pop down to the devil's lair later this week.
-
Thanks for the heads up.

Uh-oh, Carlos - I think the Swiss are not going to take kindly for being mistaken for Swedes.
Nice find on the tree. A bit large for my 15 mm stuff, though.

Ikea are the Swedes lol
I was born British but decided to become Swiss after Brexshit.

Indeed and whilst my jibe might be interpreted as Swede bashing, I would like to make it clear that I am not from Norfolk. ;)

Glad to hear no Allen key required.
lol

Excellent! Thanks for the heads up. Here in Sweden the price is 19 SEK which is only 1,6 euro. Welcome to Sweden where trees are cheap and measurements are weird o_o
-
Yes but you did give us the Viagra Boys for which we are eternally grateful. Maybe the clue to the measurements is in one of their song titles?

Brilliant. I just order 20!

I bought a few and may get a few more. I was looking at one of the Vinterflint garlands till I realised it was 3m long. lol

Cleaned the shelves of my local. Admittedly they only had a half dozen on display.

I made a 3-tree little forest out of these in the 2022 Christmas season. Before putting them onto the base, I gave them a green drybrush to look less plastic. (1/35 and 28mm figure for size)

The key is pulling them out so that their root stays intact. This makes a really durable joint to the terrain. I can literally kick it from one side of the room to the other.
