Title: Hello form Lawrence KS
Post by: lajoh20 on October 08, 2023, 02:44:06 AM
Hi I’m Lewis originally from the uk now in Kansas, Been war gaming for about 30 years now, I’m mostly interested in the napoleonic era. But I dabble in some medieval and som modern and have my eye on a few ancient and some Victorian stuff too. Big fan of 3d printing I think it is the future of the hobby. Right now I’m working on som War of 1812 miniatures in 10mm.

Greetings! Welcome to, in my opinion, the most supportive and creative hobby forum on the internet. 10mm is a great scale as it still looks good at arms reach and you can get a vast amount on the table without crowding.

That’s a fair enough reason  lol I stupidly thought “Oh 10mm that’ll take up less space……….now I have armies for most races in WHFB in 10mm”.

I think optical aids like magnifying glasses and visors are worth investigating and can guarantee if you ask for recommendations here there’ll be plenty ready to help and advise.

Welcome aboard!

And I use a combo magnifying glass/directable light...and I currently paint 28mm...so kudos to you for going with 10mm....

Welcome to the forum.

Lets start with a disagreement. I don't believe 3D printing is the future of the hobby. It's here now, it's part of the present. To say it's 'the future' is to imply there won't be anything else going forward, I disagree with that.
