A small vue of the Indian Rebels opposing British and Prussian forces in their race for unobtainium in the steaming hot Indian enviroment. Aided by terros older than Man itself these beings are neither truly human nor daemon.
ALL MINIS ARE PAINTED BY MR. CIGARFACE (A FELLOW DANE)

Fthagn! What a great idea, and beautifully executed. Dimly terrible!
-
Very nice :-* :-* :-*
Good use of the Ironclad stuff.

Wot he said :)
Very nice use of colours and I love the lightning coming out of the gun. :)

Those fellows in robes are lovely figures very nicely painted. I also think they'd look great in white with saffron turbans if you plan to do more (or anybody else is).
The monsters are cool too; though they do look like they're sucking sherbet out of those tubes to me, which diminishes their menace somewhat. :)
-
Nice work chap. :-*
Love what you have done with the steam tank. Bravo!
-
Blasted!
Curse ye to the nethermost regions of noneuclidean nebular space, Thorbjørn.
Nobody exposes the sikh empire without paying for it (I´ll take blood, please...).
And nobody introduces me to an excellent forum without screwing up my daily internet quota, and thus puts my already strained relationship at risk...
Arghh, if only I had a couple of more hours to spend each day o_o
Well, curses and whining aside: thanks for all the positive comments. I really appreciate it, so keep ´em coming :D
I´m hoping to paint my maharaja/daemon sultan tomorrow. Pics will follow. Oh, and hopefully the glorious and dastardly fiendish steam elephant will arrive any day now 8)
Cheers!

Welcome Mr. Cigarface! You are a talented man. Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.
-
Chairface/Cigarface - any relation?
I must say I'm quite liking this too (obviously having posted it and forced you in here).
Any great ideas for a scenario? 8)
-
Very cool looking Sikhs, Thorb.
-
Excellent stuff there, where abouts are the Sikhy types from?
cheers
James

They're Ironclad Martians.

Here is a small update on the ruler of the sikh empire: the daemonic sultan Malakh Singh.
His baba yaga style palanquin is almost done. Just needs a little more work on the metal. Malakh, however, is little more than primed on these pics.

And here with a special appearance of Sir Humphrey Gladstone to give a sense of scale:

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot: once again, thank you for all the kind comments. Much appreciated :)
-
Ooooh. More brilliant stuff. The palaquin is fantastic!
-
Loving your work, :-*. It has given me some ideas for some Martian weapons and vehicles. How did you make the lightning effect for your gun?
-
Yay and huzzah for Chaugnar Faughn. Always liked that one very, very much. Where did you get that tripus seat? It´s a frighteningly effective model, I´d say!
-
I don't know what to add to the above, except we gotta make a really nice photorep sometime in the new year!

Here is a small update on the ruler of the sikh empire: the daemonic sultan Malakh Singh.
Possibly the most bizarre figure I've ever seen. Also one of the most imaginative.
Gorgeous in a disgustingly Cthulhic way. I work with a lot of Punjabis and I can't imagine what they'd make of your collection lol
I can't wait to see the Sultan finished!
-
@Chris: The skullplatform came with Chauga Faugn. The rest are legs from GW bloodletters and a glassbead in between as the unobtainium orb.
I´m glad that he scares you :)

Thanks a lot, mate! I´ll take that as a compliment :D
And please try not to aggravate your punjabi friends too much with this. We´re still having a bad rep in big parts of the world here in Denmark because of the Muhammed cartoon controversy from 2005. We definetely don´t need no Sikh Crisis as well ;)

I promised Ironcladman to make a minitutorial on the lightning effect on the steam tank, so here it is.
The effect is deceptively easy to make. Really!
Its basically just some pieces of steel wire,
(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1115093/DSC00448.JPG)
one of which has been bend in the middle to create a softer end.
They have then been bend into shape quite randomly and stuck together with super glue. (Here I´ve been lazy and bluetacked them together instead)
Finally they´ve had globs of PVA glue strategically placed to represent the spots where the rays come together and create super heated plasma or whatever it is unobtainium lightning rays create when they come together.
After priming and painting: voila! You´ve got yourself a fancy lightning effect!

I haven´t done any more work on the sultan yet. Malakh, however, got some new reinforcements from Ramshackle today, so the future DOES look bright – err, I mean gloomy – for the glorious sikh empire.

Over & out!

lol - it was certainly intended as one!

Don't worry, they are pretty laid-back and certainly not religious extremists. Some of them do have very big swords, though, so best be careful ;)
-
Uuuh! I foresee a lot of rays coming out of my different vehicles soon! :D
I really like the ramshacklemini you're doing. Any ideas for what it is??? It looks like one of the turberculosis beaks they wore in the 19th century.

Love the Mr. Snickety conversion! Inspired!

Damdadamdadam... Time flies by when you´re having fun - or flu which is what I´ve been spending my last couple of weeks fighting with. First my kids and girlfriend got it, and last week it was my turn :?
Whining aside, here is a couple of pics from todays hobbying...
First is the sultan himself. I´m not that happy about the result - especially the attempt of making visible unobtainium-filled veins didn´t go quite as planned. He´s still not done, but at least he sports a somewhat more interesting tan now.

Doctor Death-by-deadly-sharp-and-nasty-Fingers was done in the same colours as the royal guard. Simple and fast.

And last but definately not least we have the Tunnelmobile of the Freemasons´ secret chapter on paranormal studies. It was pretty fun to paint the occult imagery. It is one of my first attempts on freehand, but I´m quite pleased with the way it turned out.

I'm so happy you live in my country!!! lol
-
Excellent work. I like the painted symbols on the Tunnelmobile.
-
Very different looks fun :D
I love the plasma shot :o. And the occult/free masonry iconography
in fact I love Doctor Death-by-deadly-sharp-and-nasty-Fingers pretty creepy, strangely reminiscent of Edward Scissorhands ::)
Cheers
