Well, since I received such quick response with my chain question, any suggestions for wooden barrels and crates? I saw a UK site with some great crates and wooden barrels made of resin, but the shipping makes it a little expensive to the US. Maybe I'm just too frugile, lol.

Here's the link to a german supplier

In the US and A...Armorcast (http://armorcast.com/store/index.php?cPath=120_27), maybe? Old Crow (http://www.oldcrowmodels.co.uk/aitrader.htm) in the UK has cheap stuff and 10% worldwide shipping, I think. Browse their other lines too. They're not necessarily all on the linked pages.
(I'm addicted to these. Whenever I see new barrels, I buy them. That's why I have them from countless different makers...)

Not sure about this but I think some US players go to places like Michael's craft stores and buy beads etc - there are some barrel or box shaped ones sometimes available.

Michaels and most American craft stores carry cheap barrels in their wood crafts section. They also carry wooden cubes which I use for crates with some balsa additions.

Itar from Itar's workshop has some good stuff:

enjoy :)

Pegasus Hobbies make some nice ones - boxes of plastic crates and barrels, and all they need is to be glued together and painted. I don't have them, but I'm about to order some, so I'll let you know what they're like once I know more!

Why not use the Hirst Arts form #85 and cast several wooden barrels and crates on your own?

I use these forms a lot to cast things with dental stone but you can also use resin if you want.
And the postage is not very high because they are manufactured in the US ...

I have a bunch of the Pegasus Hobbies crates and barrels. They're brilliant, come already painted and in a mix of singles and groups. Well worth the price.

Dewbakuk - the Pegasus Hobbies crates and barrels come assembled and painted! :o
Brilliant!

They do indeed.
Here's a shot of the barrels and another of the crates that come in their relevant packs.

I have the pegasus barrels which are ready to go from the pack ,for crates i have quite a few"christmas town"plastic ones that I picked up at a Xmas close out sale .but one of the best places to look would for some would be in model train supplies. some toystores carry some of the cheaper lines (ho scale)and a hobbies stores usully have the though you'd have to be careful about size unless you find "O" scale(1/48)Good luck

We don't really advertise it... but we have a few sets of crates in metal and resin.

I see that you are in Washington State. You should try Michaels Craft Store, Shopko, and/or Menards Stores. They all carry the Lemax Christmas decoration range. That range has pre-painted barrels and crates in their line. If you catch them on sale or use a Michaels coupon they can be extremely reasonable price wise!

Thanks for the pics, Dewbakuk - they look great straight out of the box! I'm ordering them tonight - my growing western town needs some clutter!
Those Company B ones also look nice, of course...

Mine perform double duty amongst my western town and my pirate docks.
