I just saw this blog https://talesfromfarpoint.blogspot.com/2023/10/stop-press-rogue-trader-rulebook.html (https://talesfromfarpoint.blogspot.com/2023/10/stop-press-rogue-trader-rulebook.html) that GW is offering a Print on Demand reprint of the original Rogue trader rulebook until the 6th November. I almost fell off my chair and they again when i saw it is actually reasonably priced!

I had a copy 30+ years ago and I'm looking forward to getting another copy sometime next year.

I have my own vintage hardback copy, which I have to handle gingerly, because opening the book fully will crack the glue in the spine and pages will come loose (I've limited it to only three pages at this point), so a copy that can be leafed through at leasure would be welcome.
However, there's a bit of Buyer Beware; the offered books are created from scans of the original, and while the resolution is ok, the colours apparently are not. I was told that the quality of the scans is thus that the pages are way too dark, playing havoc with the clarity of the pictures. The same goes for the texts though; the letters are not as crisp as in the original, which might influence readability.
So while there obviously is a market for this; Rogue Trader has been gaining in popularity over the past years with the entire Oldhammer nostalgia wave, I think possible buyers should be aware of this. It's not going to be a reprint of the original eighties materials but rahter a copy. Mind: the above is not based on my own experience, but rather on reviews, comments and pictures I found on the subject.
I contemplated getting one myself, but I think I'd rather buy another (softback) original, take out all of the individual pages and put them in a binder instead.
But that's just me; it is great that GW offers the possibility!

Yeah, I remember seeing comparison pics when the warhammer world reprint came out some years ago.
Colours too dark and images slightly smudgy compared to the original.
For what I know it's the same print quality now but available online this time.
Not really worth £40,- imho.
From one point of view maybe better, no-one can sell these copies as originals

If they're looking for £40 for the reprint I should really find out what my original hardback is worth :D

I bought one when I was at GW headquarters in March. I haven't done much more than flip through it yet. I might see if the group is interested in having a day of playing it sometime next year.

I'm in NZ so I'm happy to be able to pick up a copy despite some flaws. The price seems comparable to other hardcover wargaming rules and it qualifies for free postage here, so i'm saving another £10-15 on shipping if I was to get am original from overseas.
Its a shame that is a bit smudgy and the colours are off, I read that they spent months scanning and cleaning up the pages but we'll see.
