Preparing for a small game of Fantastic Battles in the shed this evening. Old School figures, GW, Citadel, Chronicle, Ral Partha and Vendel.

Absolutely fantastic! Great to see the gnolls/great goblins out in such force!
Don't suppose you've got a close-up of those Chronicle hobgoblins?
-
A “small game” he says! It makes one wonder what the big games look like… must need a church basement or community hall just to fit the table for the big games.
Beautiful set up, and it’s inspiring to see so many classic figures in a single game.

What a cracking collection of great old figures. Lovely to see.

Now that's a horde! What a glorious sight. Your games table must be sturdy to support that much lead.
Fantastic Battles is on my list of rules to try. Are you using 60x60mm for your company bases?

No, generally most are 120 x 50, ish, but there is quite a lot of variation. It all works though.

The fight begins, so far in favour of the Dwarves who managed to wrong foot the orcs and get most of the charges in first, denying the Orcs their furious charge bonus, sneaky little ale guzzlers!
-
That looks amazing!

This just keeps getting better and better. What an absolute beast of a collection (and a pretty spectacular gaming shed to boot). The Grenadier bear riders vs. the old Red Orcs on tuskers looks like it could be a tasty match up. Come on you gobbos!

Excellent. My sabot trays are 120x60mm and I'm not sure I can be bothered making another set at the moment, so this is good news.
Looking forward to the next installment.

Great looking horde of old skool orcs. The battle looks like it was oodles of fun what with all those wonderful minis and great looking table.
-
Nice old figures, and superb battle. :)
-
That’s quite the battle!
-
That's so beautiful. I especially love seeing so many of the Fantasy Tribes miniatures in there. That was my era for fantasy battles.
-
A great looking game, Nice to see so many old classics on the table, I still have quite a few of my older stuff as well, I really must get them out for a proper big game sometime.

:o :o :o
Great looking game, truly a sight to behold.
How do you like Fantastic Wars at this scale and size?
Do you find it holds well for games this big?

Cheers, yes it works well, especially a multiplayer game, although there are only 2 of us fighting this. The lack of saving rolls also ensures that the elites cannot swan around killing all in their path without so much as a scratch ala Warhammer!

That does look amazing. I’ve kept my Fantastic Battles games small, but I see that I should try something a bit bigger.
