Post by: Mr. White on December 30, 2023, 10:34:17 PM
I’m not on Instagram, but a buddy just sent this to me.
Sad if true.

Definitely true. Dakka also has a thread remembering him.

I have some of his books from WH40K 3rd edition.

He broke the mould. What  a legacy of companies, games and family he leaves.

RIP, Sir Bryan of Linby.

Pretty crazy to think of everything he had a hand in. It wasn't a single-handed effort by any means, but he was probably the most influential among those who took wargaming from old history duffers pushing literal tin soldiers around to the far more broadly appealing and generalized hobby it is today.

You might say there was no larger name in miniatures.

Laserburn was the first set of Wargames rules I bought.
A sad loss.

There was a pretty good summary of his impact on modern tabletop wargaming over on Reddit:

The man was a legend in the industry; pretty much turned it into what it is today.

Sad news indeed, and at such a young age too...  :(
