Joined the Analog Hobbies painting challenge this time to attempt to get me motivated to paint in a more consistent manner in spite of real life and other health issues. So far it has been fairly successful as therapy exercises have balanced out issues due to painting, reading and other hobby related fine motor control activities.
Technically from the end of 2023...

Finished off the very last of my Sudan figures. Poor forlorn primed figures... now painted. I don't have any army for them to lead anymore but they are painted.

Delving into Pulp, the largest vein of the lead mountain we have:
My Supreme leader (CD Double Agent) & her henchmen. Team Evil's mascot is lurking in the background.
Additional terrain from the creative genius of Has.been.

All figures are from Crooked Dice. The bulk minion purchase for Danger 5 Nazi forces include two blisters of the Lizard & Human brown shirt Nazi mooks.
-
Those look quite good. I like your choice of colours and it is an interesting mix of figures!
-
I love those lizard men. I was thinking when I first saw the picture - what humans would team up with lizard people? Ahh, of course! Nazis..."I hate Nazis!" lol
Mike Demana
-
Nazi's are great bad guys for pulp. They can turn up anywhere... lol
The eclectic mix is partially due to my participation in a winter painting challenge at Analog Hobbies blog. Included in the challenge is a interesting theme generator (this year it's a library) that gives extra points if you paint figures that match the theme. Your points goal is what you set and the points really don't have any purpose other than self motivation. That said it is fairly effective as I am trying to complete most of the library sections. lol
Lots of interesting stuff is posted daily.

Looking good!

Definitely a few familiar painting styles.
Thanks all.

Some more from the AHPC this January:
The face of this cast or sculpt was a little off so went with more of an undead ghostly look for her

More nice painting there.

Everything is good but those Skaven are especially impressive!

Thanks. I do like colorful (though dirty) rats. :)

More work for the AHCP. Being healthy, this contest has really motivated me to paint again. My wife is probably tired of hearing me talk about it but I am enjoying it. lol
Some Bob Murch Dangerous dames:

I actually made some scenery. Cthulhu like statues on columns for a pulp/horror game I hope to game in the near future. And no, the statues will not really be just statues. That's where all those bodies came from to feed the flowers.

Keep up the 'enjoyable' good painting.
-
I had some fun with the metallic shifting paints from Vallejo. Those columns really look interesting in person as you change your viewing angle.
-
Love those Pulp figures.

All nice, but the Maidens are the best.
-
Very nice whites on the maidens! What paints did you use?
-
Woops! I THOUGHT I was replying to the general one where we all post pictures...! ;D
My apologies...I have deleted my post and replaced it with this shameful disclaimer...
Lovely miniatures, though! They look awesome. :-*

I really liked Dr Mathias maidens so followed his suggestions. Two of them were a cool white and two were a warmer white with the scarves being the opposite. Base primer white, Vallejo white, then multiple layers of a thinned Ivory/White or ProAcrylic Blue White. I chickened out on these and did not try to get more flesh tones showing like Matt did.

Great stuff Syrnx0; love the Bob Murch monks and the Skaven in particular.

Thanks. Now to catch up on the non painting tasks I ignored the last two months... lol

Now that’s an eclectic selection :)
Love the dancing maidens.

Thanks. Dr. Mathias's wonderful work inspired my CD maiden purchase. Analog Hobbies Painting Challenge theme generator guided me on quite the random trip through the lead mountain.

More Crooked Dice Miniatures:
Morris Dancers - Harmless folk dancing for fun or an insidious cult attempting to wake the old ones?

Lovely, well for people dabbling with the evil ones I think they are. :D
-
You should have black faced them….then they certainly could fulfil the sinister role! Never quite sure why some morris men do that…

Nothing wrong with wearing your best when burning down the world.

The group that I based my painting wore red face paint but I thought that a bit too much red. My dancers are not attempting to hide their identity with soot but willing to be open about their breaking laws, arms, heads... etc.
-
Some really old resin Battletech miniatures.
-
Good paint job, & easily identifiable factions.
Never took to Battletech (it came out long after I wuz a child lol)
But, you can never have too many evil robots (The Umpire's friends :D)
-
Always liked playing BT. Simple game that goes well with a few stouts. Three of my friends went all in on the latest incarnation of the miniatures so I have plenty of stompy robots to paint.
-
Those Morris men are outstanding!!

Thanks. Took awhile but I really like the way they turned out.
