Title: Warthogs - HaloClix, McFarlane, JoyRide or Johnny Lightning???
Post by: Grimmnar on 18 November 2009, 08:35:55 AM
So, thinking of acquiring some Warthogs for well whatever. LOL
There are several choices out there, as has been the case, and well for those that have seen in person or own some which you prefer to buy?
Looking to match up with 28mm scale. Be it GW, Copplestone, EM4 and what not. Just in that scale range.

Thoughts?

Go and check out my Halo thread which has comparison pics and Predatorpt's army build. McFarlane ones look the most accurate and are the most appropriately scaled:

Hope this helps

I got hold of a few different ones in a local shop, the Mcfarlane is far and away the best one and the only one I bought (I have 9 and yes I intend to use them all).

The Haloclix one is okay but quite big and the only one available was 'battle damaged' as the 'normal' one was limited somehow (WTF?!?!).

I just bought the Haloclix one when my comic shop was selling it for 30% off.  It is a little big for most 28mm figures.  I need to track down a McFarlene one.  Does anyone know if they are still in production?

They aren't as far as I know, however they come up on ebay regularly and if you're in the US, there are plenty on right now.

I bought a Clix one and then gave it to my son as it is a little large for 28mm.

I then bought 6 Macfarlene Warthogs from an eBay trader who "did me a deal".  :)

There's one here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Halo-3-Vehicle-Warthog-Series-1-NEW-Boxed-Best-Price_W0QQitemZ160380197852QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ToysGames_ActionFigures_ActionFigures_JN?hash=item2557679bdc) which isn't too expensive atm and this guy (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIGURE-Warthog-Halo-3-Vehicles-Series-1-NEW_W0QQitemZ230398026669QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ToysGames_ActionFigures_ActionFigures_JN?hash=item35a4cae3ad) has quite a few.
