The start of my first gang…
-
Hello,
Nice painting !! I impatiently await the release of this Wargame Atlantic plastic box to enlarge my slave sin.

Thanks Mate! These are from that plastic set, they are superb!
-
Way cooler than the 1st edition stuff. Nice to see.

I agree, the 1e minis for the gangs were a little janky for my personal tastes. Some looked like they were modern art dancers mid-move. But these plastics are very nice, and a lot of the later 1e stuff is very good, plus the civilians are super.
I plan to make a mob base with Caesar and another with Pompey for fun.
-
Those are cool. I keep thinking about doing see through basing for variable surfaces. :)
-
Please to enjoy!

Looks incredible! I certainly Wouldn’t want to meet him in a dark alley lol

Nice work!

I am very happy I did the clear bases…
I got these from Aliexpress. SUPER deal, they are very thick which in the end, imho works bette than thin or even medium thick bases. I always pin models. I find that a steel sewing pin through one foot, even for plastics, makes a big difference. No one ever sees them, including me. I highly recommend. This is of course obligatory for metal minis which again imho seem to jump off of clear bases for some reason... So I always pin metal through at least one foot.

Gang so far

I shall check these out to maybe kickstart my Spartican Revolt army.

Lovely stuff and very inspirational given I'm creating scenery for Gangs of Rome at the moment. It seems we have the same cobbled map.
The figures look great too.

Thank you! The mat is brilliant! And the terrain goes fast, I’ve done 8 kits in two weeks, minus airbrushing

My last WIP building for a while. I have some trader stands to make them back to the minis!

Wonderful as usual :-*

Great work! :-* :-* :-*

Thank you all for the kind words!
I decided to try something different... decay :D
I'll outline them in black and then do an overall airbrush treatment for weathering.

Ah! The iconic forica.
Very nicely done! Love the weathering.
I'd ask if you had modelled sponges on sticks but apparently there is now some scholarly debate as to whether they were as widely used as had been assumed or indeed if they were used at all.

The slots would definitely suggest the use of the sticks, are scholars now wondering if they used sponges?
-
I've seen a couple of articles recently suggesting that (a) sponges are too expensive to use as toilet paper and (b) that sponges would not remain reliably attached to the stick.
As merely an interested amateur I can't speak to the relative cost of Roman sponges compared with the utility of the end product and I have no intention of attempting experimental archaeology to test the thesis that they would not be robust enough.
I remain intrigued none the less.
-
Lol, I can use both!
Gameday, what I have so far…

Impressive stuff!
I recognise several of the buildings, though mine haven't even been punched out of the frame!
You are an inspiration!
