Title: Best wagons for a Gothic Wagon laager
Post by: Triarius on 29 February 2024, 04:40:24 PM
Hi all,
I'm looking to make a massive wagon laager for the Ancient Goths ala Adrianople. I was hoping to do a somewhere around 4 feet of wagon laager. I was curious if anyone had suggestions for decent looking wagons that don't break the bank.

Many thanks!

Make your own out of MDF bases.

Rectangular for the base, sides and back and round for wheels. Cocktail stick or similar for the wagon pole. And Robert is your mother's brother!

Remember to allow for the thickness of the bases.

Different sized bases will give variety of wagon types.

Solid wheels are probably an anachronism but if anyone quibbles ask them for a contemporary image of the wagons at Adrianople!  :D

I built the walls of a Sumerian city that way. Carts have to be way easier.

Warbases do pre cut laser wagons.
I’ve got a few for my Goths, nowhere near as many as you need.
But they are cheap and cheerful.

Colonel Bills produce wagons in his "Depot Battalion" range, and Irregular Miniatures also produce several.  All depends on how rich your bank is!
