I have thought to build something for my fictional ww1 - desert - wadisdah project. First idea is to go for a pre dreadnought battleship in 1:72 loosely based on the Jauréguiberry.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_battleship_Jaur%C3%A9guiberry#/media/File:French_battleship_Jaureguiberry_NH_88826_.jpg (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_battleship_Jaur%C3%A9guiberry#/media/File:French_battleship_Jaureguiberry_NH_88826_.jpg).
Of course this model will be a way too big in this scale so I might build it out of scale.

Wow! This will be something.
The tumblehome on that monster is incredible!
Looking forward to this 8)
I had to look up who or what it's named after, as the name seemed something out of Lewis Carroll (Jauréguiberry, Jabberwocky...) - he was a Vice admiral, took part in an action in the Crimean war.

Interesting idea.

All those late 19th C pre-dread ships are fascinating monsters, a real "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" era of naval design, and the French seem to have been the weirdest of the lot!
There's a social media account called Dreadnaught Holiday (Twitter and Bluesky, not sure if also elsewhere) that's well worth looking up for some fun explorations of the absurdity of some of the pre-dreads.

Ships! I like ships. :-*
I will follow this with much interest. I hope you will manage to build it.

A small setback
today my cat informed me that someone violated the ship plans

Must be a saboteur for the Germans.
I have a couple of canines with similar habits, 'though they tend to hold off until a project is further down the road, and I have been lulled into a misguided sense of security.

Who could have done that? :o
-
nice idea

Die Katzensaboteur has infiltrated the French Ministry de la Marine and struck at the secret planning offices! Quelle horreur! :D
(both my French and my German are very bad, but I refuse to apologize...)

Katzensaboteur is a debatable term. It suggests someone who inflicts sabotage to cats. Saboteur is a male word, by the way - therefore Der Katzensaboteur.
Perfectly correct would be Die Sabotagekatze - a cat on a sabotage mission or simply any cat... :D

Apologies, my bastard cat just eats anything she wants so I can't understand the nuance. Charging cables, Christmas lights, wood, benches, chairs, shoes, leather, and terrain do not stand a chance when her mood is up.

In a not-so-distant time, the French Ministry of Defense website proposed plans of major ships of the French Navy (La Royale) (sails to WWII ships), for model makers. They were cutaways, details of decks, armament...
Unfortunately they have shut down this site (budget...). :'(
This site was a wonderful database for modellers and wargamers.
If this site were to be reopened I will inform you.

Impromptu German lessons, LAF is always a source of education and surprise!
Die Sabotagekatze sounds awesome, going to file that one away to apply to our grumpy old lady cat when she next does something horrible!
