Title: Baby changing tables as skirmish to medium-sized wargaming tables?
Post by: white knight on March 09, 2024, 06:34:16 PM
So, I've been running across these IKEA baby changing tables, often at big discounts in their sales corner and I keep thinking, with their surface of around 90x100 cm, a single one would make a good size skirmish game table and you could add wheels and put two together (along the open sides) for a decent medium sized table. They're a good height, come with storage options underneath and the raised sides on top would keep your boards and scenery from moving/getting pushed off. You could even make an easy attachment mechanism to keep the two attached when you use the double configuration by using some of these plastic child locks for cabinets and drawers.

So. Is this crazy or am I on to something?

Yes and yes,

can the storage be fitted to face out the other side?

Yes and yes,

We'll, thanks, I guess.  ;D

can the storage be fitted to face out the other side?

While it is somewhat modular in the storage department, it isn't that way on the model shown as the back is a single piece. I have thought about the same thing and I've been keeping an eye open for one that would allow for that.
