Now my deep sea divers are painted, well have been for a while actually, I thought I'd try them out for a game https://grahamsgaming.blogspot.com/2024/03/under-sea-vsf.html

I am holding my breath. :D

Great stuff, I love the diving suit :)

Very cool! 🤿

Ever since seeing Schild en Vriend's version of Stingray, and Wessex's promise of Aquanef, I focused on vehicles instead of divers, though I had a small collection of Mage Knight Iron Lungs and Deep Ones, just in case...
These images have definitely sparked dangerous thoughts. I may actually aim to misbehave.
Thanks so much!

Do you have any links for the Schild en Vriend Stingray game. I haven't been abe to find anything (is it my dismal googlefu?). Thanks.

Like those divers!

Sorry, I was conflating their AquaZone with Warlord's Stingray (thank you, Mr Treadaway.)

I recall seeing a description of the Warlord setup, but the Wayback machine isn't finding what I remember on the dead link.

Ah I have known of the Warlords' game for a long time. There was a big spread about it in Practical Wargaming mag. Late 80s if I remember.

Thank you for the kind words, gents.
Doug - go for it!

And a larger scale game just a few years ago.

First I have heard about this. Very exciting!

The diving suit is first class! Was wondering where it comes from?

Excellent stuff as usual.

Just need a great white shark, a giant squid, and the nefarious and sinister giant clam.

You should look up HLBS https://www.hlbs-redux.co.uk/
Not only some fantastic underwater beasties, but orders over a reasonable amount quality for PDF copies of the Saurian Safari rules and the underwater expansion Submarine Safari.

Went to the site, but I am not seeing anything about rules. Still looking through the pieces, and am enjoying the...
Snikies! A Dunkleosteus! I may faint!
Or, will that wait for a cross-briny shippage quote? ;)
Thanks!

It's under Saurian Safari:

It hadn't registered with me that you are in N. America. I've largely given up ordering from across the pond for similar reasons.

No giant clams, that most dangerous of all deep sea creatures…but i did just order some land dinos. would have bought more if they had not been sold out of so many—flyers in particular.

They say 'dinosaurs', but I can hope a point may be stretched for underwater.
'largely' given up is the key. Exceptions will be made.
Sunjester, great thanks, again, for leading me down this rabbit hole! Er, again. ;)

Just got my dino’s last week…the BoilerCompany is a joy to work with…very fast (even across the pond to New Orleans) and updated my order with extra figs on a quick email request since the website was less accurate about in stock or not. These figs are really well done, with a lot of texture for great dry brushing. I could see using the sea dinos f’sure.
Painted up this guy in about ten minutes.

deleted for silly redundant posting. fat finger.

It's been some time since I added to my jealousy-fuled list of hated competent painters. Congratulations!

The thing about dry brushing on a well textured fig is it’s really fast, and very tolerant of “impressionist” style. The figure made it really, really easy…no skill on my part at all.

I picked up some large in scale clam shells from the side of a Scotish loch in February and wondered what I could use them for. lol
Back to the original post.....this looks amazingly interesting.

Giant Mussels aren’t as serious a threat to deep- ”sea divers, indeed just the opposite.

That is until they have been exposed to radiation as a result of a timeslip or wreck of the Nautilus!

Just wanted to say that I went to HLBS , and shippage was about as painful as assumed, though not doubling the price, so could have been worse.
That was the ONLY pain; communications were warm and cordial. I purchased my Dunkle's Bone, and a pair of Carmagnolle brothers diving suits filled with lovely snacks for my new pet, at a speed that brought to mind Jon Tuffley's wormhole.
Also, the PDF I sought, with a bonus that delighted! No, that would be telling...
