I've just been searching for an old post on here to try and recall when I started my slow burn Italian wars project. It was long ago, probably more than 13 years ago since I started. My initial interest was kindled by those lovely pictures in early editions of Miniature Wargames in the early eighties and set on fire around 2010 when Artizan produced their Landsknecht range. I collected figures gradually painting mainly Landsknecht initially but I've put a bit of a spurt on recently and painted a lot of cavalry recently.
I found the old thread https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=34072.45 just now.
Yesterday I decided to get out all that I've painted over the last 13 years and posted a lot of pictures on my blog https://valleyboyinnz.wordpress.com/
Unfortunately there are too many to post here but here are a few

There are quite a mixture of figures from Artizan, Old Glory, Eureka, Casting Room Miniatures, Steelfist, Wargames Foundry and Warlord games and of course Perry Miniatures. I have a fair few more to paint I think but the bulk are done. I've never quite got around to buying any TAG or Mirlton. I know if I was starting again I'd buy more Steelfist but I now have plenty of Landsknecht.
I've surprised myself with the volume painted and how much of the 10 x 5 table they fill. Its certainly taken a while!

Spectacular stuff, Kerry. Time well spent!

Collections such as yours are the pride of a wargamer, really... on my side, I feel an urge to dig out some of the (smaller, they are 15mm) Landsknechts that I keep stored waiting to be painted since years...
which rules do you use?
-
wowzer ... fantastic.

Thanks again all
Thankfully I've managed to finish off some Perry plastics for the collection though its been a bit of grind. I can't really say that I enjoyed painting the heavy cavalry or mounted men at arms box but stuck at it. They're meant to bolster my Spanish so I gave them mainly Spanish flags by Pete's flags and one by Maverick models. The light cavalry box is so versatile so these will do for generic Italians. I'm glad to have got the bulk of the cavalry now finished but I doubt I'll be able to pass up the opportunity to add more Foundry Gendarmes when I visit for Partizan!

Have made more progress - this time painting up Perry Miniatures Italian infantry as Milanese
There's an old unit of heavy infantry I painted a few years ago to which I've added another heavy infantry unit, a light infantry unit and a unit each of Arquebusiers and bowmen that are cross!
All but one flag is from Pete's flags and this time I made some shield transfers using Wappen Wiki which suggests these could do for both the houses of the Visconti or Sforza
