Long time lurker, first time Poster as the old saying goes.
I'm Andi from Germany, I'm mid 40s and started with Warhammer Fantasy all the way back in the 90's but since then I've turned into the proverbial hobby butterfly and have branched out to all kinds of different games and minis.
I've been in a bit of a slump the last couple of years hobby-wise but it seems like 2024 is the year the mojo came back and im currently working on a small band of skeletons an a chibi style squid mermaid for my girlfriend.
I hope to keep the mojo flowing by posting here so I'll see you around :)

Welcome Andi! You will most likely find yourself going in new directions after being on here for a while.
Ever play any historical rules?
-
I haven't actually played much in recent years, besides a couple of quick "very easy homebrew games" because our then 11 year old kid wanted to try what gaming with minis is like. Heck, that was 8 years ago :o
I've been much more a collector/builder/painter the last two decades. Work and taking care of family didn't leave me much time/energy for actual gaming. But I still buy the occasional new rule book just for a read. The last one I picked up was Clash of Spears and I quite liked that. I'm also looking forward to the Nevermind the Billhooks skirmish game.

Welcome Andi! What you write there, reads like we share quite a few things in common - apart from living in Germany... :D

Glad the mojo has returned! Welcome.

Life is such a hassle sometimes, right? :D A short time ago it finally clicked for me that if I keep waiting for the perfect time to paint I'd end up waiting forever. You gotta catch the bull by the horns and the brush by the bristles or something like that lol
Glad the mojo has returned! Welcome.
Glad to be here :)

Welcome, now relax and enjoy. Remember it is a hobby. ;)

You have great taste in rulebooks. I just bought this one myself.
Hobbies are tough with young kids. The trick, as you've discovered, is to just keep you toes in the water a bit. Keep painting and reading, and once you have more time you can jump in the deep-end. Any big hobby plans for 2024?

Moin Andi,
Welcome back to the hobby! If you're up north, there are a few of us who play reasonably regularly in and around Hamburg.

No reallyset plans, but I'vebuilt a lot of small warbands from different Victrix kits after failingout of love with Warhammer and I'd liketo get some paint on them.
