Are there any manufacturers making Austrians for the Austro-Prussian war? I’ve seen lots of Austrians stuff for Napoleonics and ww1, but there seems an irritating lack of models for the period between. Any advice is much appreciated :D
-
Northstar have a fairly complete range for both sides. Eagles of empire do Prussians. Perry plasics have Prussians. Cibo's Little Dudes do Austrians that may be suitable but a little chunky.

10mm from Pendraken!
-
Northstar and Eureka both make them in 28mm.
-
Baccus in 6mm.

In 15mm:
Old Glory 15s
Essex
Lancashire
I think there might be others

Piran’s Warriors have a lovely28mm range that more or less paint themselves https://piranswarriors.co.uk/collections/all

I've not heard of Piran's Warriors before. I was considering Austrians for a VSF force as something a bit different and they look like nice figures. They remind me of Outpost Wargames Services, whose Turks are great little figures. Thanks.

I think the Vendor Terry is a member of this fine forum! He is a gent and a very nice figure painter.

Useful to know, thanks.

Hadn’t heard of PW either, but I’m glad I did- this looks great :)

Thanks for the kind comments Roo. Cheque’s in the post😃🤣
Yes, we do Austrians for 1859 for the wars against France and Italy. We are slowly expanding the range and have Line infantry, jägers, cavalry and artillery men. They are not wearing greatcoats which they predominantly wore for 1866 but I tend to use them for that theatre of war for my games.
We are based in the UK
Cheers

Battlehonours does a whole line of 1859 and 1866 25mm Austrians...

I think Austrians are an excellent idea for a rather different VSF force!
Those Piran's Warriors minis look very nice indeed.

For anyone looking at the Piran's Warriors Austrians, I got in touch with Terry, the owner and just received my order. They're great and I'm really pleased with them. They fit nicely stylistically with my Outpost Turks (now in the US with Badger Games). Terry was excellent to deal with too and I'd have no hesitation in recommending both the figures and the service. I just need to get them painted for some VSF action!
-
Love that, well done to the ‘Goblin King!’
-
Yeah, they deserve some attention as they're great figures.
-
Thanks for the feedback Elk. It is very much appreciated.
Thanks for the recommendation Roo. Still got those Goblins😃
Must get up to your part of the country and join in one of those VBCW game extravaganzas
