For this next project we have sourced another great work from the same author and artists who wrote, compiled, and created art for A COMPLETE GUIDE TO HERALDRY. Our goal is to raise funds to continue making new heraldic images for our wargaming needs.

Each decal sheet is approx. 11.5 x 20.5 cm in size. The individual decals mostly measure under or near 1 cm in height and width but will vary with shape and image as seen below. We tried to contain enough detail to be applied to most fantasy or medieval shields for 1/56 (28mm) scale miniature wargaming. Each image has 5 left facing images and 4 right facing images. This will allow those interested in putting them on horse's caparison the ability to do just that, or alternatively have some variants on footmen shields or whatever the decals will be put on!
Each sheet has a total of 180 waterslide decals.

We continue to promote the campaign and share it on social media, forums, or wherever we can! Thank you again to everyone for funding this project as well as reaching the stretch goals.
In this update I thought it would be fun to take a few photos and compare the decals to other items I have in my own collection. I just used my iPhone camera and my hobby light direct for these shots, so there's no fancy photo box or white light involved.

Furthermore I painted a few flat bases white and again just took some quick shots with the iPhone. I stuck these up on a wall just to have some regular light involved to show that the detail will pop well in all sorts of lighting. Here are some random examples from all four of the sheets. I simply stuck them in water and put them on the base - they worked fine even without micro sol or citadel's 'ardcoat (though I still suggest you use something on the minis to protect your decals!).

They're very nicely produced but they seem more suited to fantasy games than history.
I offer these thoughts constructively.
They look more like livery symbols than devices for coats of arms (with a few exceptions). And livery symbols were often simple badges (cloth or metal) worn on the clothing so probably too small to be depicted on the actual miniatures.
But the other problem is that coats of arms were all individual. What use are a dozen or so rampant lions on the same sheet? I know some of you will say that it allows you to put them on the shields of retinue troops so you know they are all part of the same. But there's no historical proof to say that was ever done. Again, fantasy.
What would be more useful is a sheet of different individual coats of arms. Although that may be a lot of work.
Another option would be useful heraldic devices such as a sheet of ermine or vair (which can be a bugger to paint). Or heraldic labels for eldest sons. Or some partitions, particularly the ones that are difficult to paint (castellated, bars, wavy, etc).
They would prove more useful to historical miniatures than a sheet of livery badges which never actually appeared on shields. Otherwise this should be in the fantasy thread.
