Played an old set of rules with an old friend. A good time was had.
Both of us were able to curse the dice throws.
Our own, 'If only that unit had arrived earlier' and
the opponents, 'Another 6 !!!! :o' (greatly harrassed unit passing yet another morale test).

Cool looking game :-* :-* :-* :-*
Don't show me anymore I don't need any encouragement to dig out my AK47 stuff

Such a great game. Original or reloaded?
P.S. Proper job on those figures and terrain.

There is a danger, I am trying to get my friend to dig out his AK47 army. :D

Original. I did flirt with the first extension, but never really took to it.
I never even realised there was a reloaded version until Digits asked me to check his preposed army list & nothing fitted! ??? ??? ???
Bought a copy of the reloaded, but again didn't really take to it.
I have a plan...OK this will be the umpteenth 'plan'.
I will do five (maybe six) 'armies' all based on the original rules, but each one a different political stance.
All the options, lists etc will be in its own really useful box.
This is already the case with:-
The Army, Peoples Pop[ular Front.
The Air Force, Dictatorship.
The Navy, Colonial Power/Settlers.
Figures allocated for;
The Marines,
The Para-Military Police &
The UN.
The grand idea is that when I fancy a game I can just take any two boxes off the shelf & be ready to play right away.

Looks fun….as always

And Flatpack is another local AK47er. I would like to 're-awaken' :)

Never played AK47. But your terrain/figures/vehicles look the part. Well done!

Nice to see an AK47 game, they are such good fun.
I played two games of "Reloaded" last Saturday (25th) at the AK47 event held in Sheffield. I lost the first game and won the second. There were 4 games of Reloaded and 5 of the original or "Classic" rules played. The event was organised through the active AK47 Wargamers facebook group.
Best wishes, Martin from Grimsby

Nice looking table Smoking Gun.
CapnJim, you have got to give it a try.
From dicing up your country's flag & name, then colouring in the flag, coloured pencils useful, not something you normally hear in a wargame. :D
through to the post battle tot up & all the fun along the way.

For those who haven't played AK47 Republic, Billy Goat Wargaming has recently posted a video of a game using the original rules on You Tube:

Hmm. Just what I need - another rule set...I might just have a peek at it, though!

I've been looking at AK47 recently, never having played it. I watched a few videos (possibly not Billy Goat, thanks for the link) Opinion seems divided on original and reloaded. Opinions on which might be best for a new player? I noted the new version includes Arab-Israeli and French/US intervention forces, which might be interesting to me.

have only played the reloaded version, in a Black Hawk Down inspired setting.
Never seen the film, but the game played well

Great looking game with beautiful models and scenery. I especially love those wheeled armored cars (Saracens?). I am fan of AK47 Republic and gearing up for another game in the coming weeks. I think I use the 2.0 version of the original (or is it 1.2?). Like you, I preferred the original to reloaded.

No, they are Saladins, PBR Streetgang.
The great thing, well of the great things, with AK47 is you can use what ever equipment you want/already have.
With the original rules a tank is a tank. Nice & simple. I like simple. :D
