Title: CoC Sicily 1943
Post by: Utgaard on 25 June 2024, 10:33:20 AM
My mate Max and I had agreed on Sicily 1943 as the setting for our CoC games some time ago and last Saturday we had another game.

A platoon of Parachute Infantry encountered advancing Bersaglieri at Coto, who had order to reconnoitre American troop movements detected by the Axis and a skirmish battle developed (Scenario 1 "The Probe").

Another game that could tip one way or the other in terms of victory right up to the final minute and a very close one in the end.

That looked like it was a great game.  Super scenery.  Were the Italian buildings 3d printed and if so who made them?

Yes it was, thank you  :)

3D printed ones, STLs are made by Jens Najewitz from his Mediterranean range.

The ochre and the reddish-brown panted buildings are from his African range, intended for the Boer War and had a thatched roofs so I build new roofs from scratch.

Gorgeous table, great looking figures too! I've been having Sicily in the back of my head for a WWII project.

Primosole Bridge has always fascinated me.

I downloaded the PDF scenario book, reads very well, plus I just received 2 boxes with 30 Italians each from Amazon!  Got a busy summer of gluing and painting!!!

Awesome-looking game. Can you tell us a bit about the mat? The roads and road edges look absolutely seamless. Gorgeous stuff.

Thank you guys, much appreciated :)

<Snip> Can you tell us a bit about the mat? The roads and road edges look absolutely seamless.

The mat is self-made using a cloth called Teddy Fleece, the roads and their edges look seamless because I have modelled the roads into the mat.
This is of course less flexible regarding the possible set-up variants.
