Title: First attempt at a large scale figure.
Post by: Vanth on 14 July 2024, 01:21:47 PM
Hello, here is my first attempt at a 75mm figure: I would appreciate any constructive criticism in order to improve.

Looks great! My only suggestion would be to give the dirt a slight dry brush. He looks a bit pale as well, but maybe that's the look you're going for (sickly worn-out crusader).

Thank you, I did try to make him a bit pale indeed, I am attaching some unflattering extreme close-ups so that the skin tone could be better judged though. I did a drybrush to the terrain, but the later application of pigments seems to have completely canceled it... back again...

Very well done.  My only suggestion would be to try some oils on his very pale skin.  Used correctly they can give a very slight tint to the base colors and give his face and hands a bit more texture.  Loads of oil tutorials are on you tube if you are interested.

Honestly, very nice job on the face.
