Title: WAB Crusades?
Post by: Dukewilliam on 24 August 2024, 03:00:48 AM
Yinz know if there are any lists for Islamic armies for Warhammer Ancient Battles anywhere? I can use Normans for Crusaders but need lists for the armies of Islam.

Thanks,
Steve

I no longer have the books but there will be Islamic Spanish in the "El Cid" Book, maybe some in the "Golden Gate" Byzantine book and also in the original multi-period book which I think was called "Armies of Antiquity".

All the lists you’ll need can be found in the second version of Armies of Antiquity.
Plus the books mentioned above for V1.

AoA V2 does have a different points structure to books from the earlier period, but provided you don’t mix the two, you’re fine.

Shameless plug,
I’m running an event next spring which involves the rise of the Mongols and naturally all the peoples they came into combat with.
We’ll be using V2 of the rules and a big list of armies from AoA2.

Korean
Steppe Nomads
Tibetan
Japanese
Seljuk Turk
Ghaznavid
Song China
Polish
Hungarian

Tim's WAB events are great, full of good but honest and fair "competition" and a hell of a good laugh. If you can make one you would be i/ very welcome and ii/ guaranteed of a good time  8)

The Crusades list, Seljuk Turk and Arab Caliphate list are in the WAB Armies of Antiquity V.2 book. Unfortunately there is no Ayyubid list which is the one you really need. However, you could put a make shift Ayyubid by downloading the Swordpoint Ayyubid/Saladin army list here and substituting various entries from various lists from the WAB Armies of Antiquity V.2 book.

It is doable if you put in a wee bit of time.
