Post by: argsilverson on November 27, 2009, 10:15:46 PM
Just found some preview in the Pulp figures site:

(highlanders too!)
maybe this post should also be crossposted to Interwar board!

Yeah, these are all going straight into my "Want, Badly!" list.

Oooo, very nice.  I will be waiting impatiently for these.

Hmmm, I am half disappointed with this set. The first previewed miniature, Col. Ripperton, set my expectation quite high. The Scotsman is a nice addition, I am sure, but the other two are very generic. There are already a plethora off miniaitures like that from Copplestone, Artizan, Foundry and others.

I like Bluey Jones. Reminds me a bit of Teddy Roosevelt. And I like him drinking tea or coffee  (or whatever else he put into his cup). He looks like the cool, seasoned adventurer/explorer. I'm amazed how a relatively plain model can be so nice looking.

I'm thinking of using ol' Col. Riperton as a stand in (with a bit of conversion work...) for Devlin Waugh. The brilliant(?) 2000AD character. Cat breeder, Vatican investigator, bodybuilder...did I mention gay vampire? Great stuff!

Really liking the Colonel and the Scotsman (now that would be a great cop show!) but I agree with Hammers about the others, while they are lovely figures, they are nothing new and that doesn't really excite me.

I had the same feeling when I saw them, but I keep waiting to see the whole set, maybe is some gem among them.

I can't wait when these are finally released to add to my Adventure Game Armies.  I see a lot of uses for them.

I've finally realized what's been bugging me, very slightly, about this pack.

The figures are all excellent, but we've got Colonel Sah in his best mess kit... and the other four in huntin' or safari kit.

Another figure in huntin'/safari kit to round out that set, and then four companions in mess kit for Colonel Sah to drink port with would be cool.

They'll be going on my "Want, Badly!" list regardless, but there does seem to be a disconnect in these five.

Just because a chap is stranded on the Lost Skull Valley Island that time forgot, doesn't mean he needn't dress for dinner! Let your standards slip and we're all lost!

I can just see him striding out of his tent dressed like this!

Quite so. One must observe decorum, noblesse oblige, and what.
