Title: What I painted in Septemeber 2024
Post by: mikedemana on 06 September 2024, 05:31:53 PM
May as well get this monthly thread started. These are 3-D printed terrain piece I picked up at Historicon 2024 from Bad Goblin Games. They'll add quite a bit of color to my post-apocalyptic or zombie games. Check them out, and for LOTS more pictures and commentary on what I did and why, see my blog post:
http://leadlegionaries.blogspot.com/2024/09/fortified-trailers-for-post-apocalypse.html

Each of their trailers are different -- they had six at their Historicon booth. Not sure why they're not on their website, yet. I bought #1 & #6, if that matters.  :D

Tried to get these done in August, but ran out of time.

Some Quar. Opted for a straightforward design, with khaki uniforms paired with green webbing and gear.

Almost done with the zombie push. I painted up another batch of 10 Wargames Factory zombie, but also converted four 28mm metal survivor figures to zombies as "Nasty zombies." Most zed games have different tiers of zombies, and I did each type in a different style basing. The nasties have bricks.

(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKryGO68YLzdn85PUwTvRY6ZQnREZFSgRJCZdqpYeUr6EScjRXmGQQYH6IafatrmsjR1rPAU-5rWH95veVJQDWhabgxqrzqsZ1h0OkP4fC4xP-JwiE6hvTJ-GkimlKZJI7gk57W0arBID1-RW0PjxVIlDNysI82Dt-ManiFQtvnJeSuUDCc_o0GeBJ_DY/w640-h444/NastyZombiesPlus_GroupAall.jpg)

On the painting table is the last of the zombies I will paint (10 more WF), and finally a change of pace. For a local Saga tournament, I always paint up two Warlord stands as prizes. I picked out the three figures for each stand and have them on their temporary bases ready for priming next.

Frying tonight!

Might be the only paintjob that gets finished this month, a hellhound to go with the Krieg collective.

I SWEAR this is the last of the zombies. If I post any more pics of newly-painted zombies, you guys can kick me off the Forum...  lol

If you are...ahem, dying to see more pics of this batch (or the 3-D printed car), here's my blog entry:

I have painted very little in the past 3 months, due to focusing on building the war rig and doing some 1:1 scale stuff.

HOWEVER, it is the season to get back to the brushes, and here’s a start, the war rig driver. A Copplestone punk gang driver who I chopped up a bit to get into the seat. He will fit into the cab, but I have no idea how visible he’ll be. I’m hoping his death’s head mask will show up through the windshield, at least.

Now, THAT's dedication! Not knowing if a fig will even be noticeable, but giving it 100% anyway. Salute!

I took a break from my own stuff to do two warlord stands as prizes for the local Saga tournament. If you're in the U.S., come to Advance the Colors, Oct. 11-12, play Saga, and win these!

One "Age of Ancients" tournament and one "Dark Ages" tourney, thus the chosen subjects...

Note: reposted the link to the Ancient one....

Another busy horror themed month for me...

A mix of Crooked Dice, Death May Die Deep Ones (not the best sculpts in the game) and some old sea imps (?) I've had in the cupboard for years

More ACW units.  CSA this time.  Still need to dig out the flags and decide which to use.

Painting some Sci-Fi scatter terrain/buildings.

This cool one changes color as you spin it around -- I think it was 3-D printed with a color shift filament, or something like that.
