From their Friday email update, they have partnered with Green Ronin Games, who do the Expanse RPG, to produce 28mm multipart plastic crew and 1/1000 scale ships to pretty up your tables.
Full details here:

But it looks like there are lots more kits planned.
I'm kind of excited by this as I loved the TV show.

Ooh.. that is a bit nice, isn't it?
I'm especially interested in the ships. And I wonder how they will sculpt the belters; as they are described in the books, or as they are depicted in the series. (I'm hoping for the former... ;) ).

Exciting stuff, although I was a little underwhelmed by the figure renders I saw.
-
Very cool, I’m definitely getting the ships.

I think the Green Ronins RPG license is for the novels, not the tv-series, so I'd expect the miniatures to be to.

Good to know :)

I'd like to see what the ships are like, because I've just painted up UNN and MCRN fleets using Brigade Models ships.
-
This is very interesting. Waiting to see more with interest.

Wow, the body proportions on those 2 figure renders are crap. I hope they intend to improve those before production.
Is all Wargames Atlantic stuff that bad?
-
Not all of them are misproportioned. I have some of their goblins and they’re quite historically accurate. ;)

Yes, my first thoughts were that I don't remember there being any hobbits in the Expanse.
I've been generally happy with the Wargames Atlantic stuff I've bought. I like their Cannon Fodder a lot, the Ooorah and the not Catachans are ok, and the Death Fields Scifi Fallshirmjager were a bit disappoiting.
In general they seem to get better with every kit, but there's not always the same compatability between their stuff like we've come to expect from the Stargrave stuff.

I did write a response this morning, but obviously I offended some blue goo, because it never posted...
Their figures are usually reasonably proportioned, certainly around the industry standard. I do find a lot of the poses rather stiff, which you get away with on military figures, not so much on civilians.
The female figure is way off, but hopefully a different head would help. However, they've (over)compensated by making her torso far too short, so another head could throw the figure off in other ways. The male figure looks okay, although I'm not sure about the "thumb's up" gesture.
I have no interest in the RPG, so hopefully the figures will be a separate pledge (or whatever Backerkit offers). More workers for the spaceport are always welcome :)
-
Remember these are early renders and will likely go through a process of refinement before they hit plastic.
All the WA kits I've seen have gone through something similar and usually end up fairly decent. The British Riflemen kit is probably the worst in terms of posing, anatomy and detail, but even that has its uses.
As Zemjw says, more staff for the spaceport is always welcome and the sprues will be available singly through the splitters on Ebay for all manner of kitbashing.
And hey, at least if it's Sci-fi they won't have weapons with the locks on the wrong side like they did with the Baker rifle...

The game is up and live on Backerkit - https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/green-ronin-publishing/the-expanse-roleplaying-game-transport-union-edition
I think you can get the figures separately, although I only skimmed the post. Delivery is Summer 2025. I suspect I'm going to wait for the boxes to appear next year, as there's no rush.
A better crew render, with fewer bobbleheads lol However, there are some stiff poses in there :(

Cool, though the crew look like Kev White's Grymm.

They don't look too bad from what I can see. I like that there is a mix of male and female minis. 18 minis over 3 sprues means 6 per sprue...comparing to the Stargrave kits that may well mean the options are much more limited, especially as each sprue would have a mix of men and women. If nothing else though it looks like a good source of bits for conversions.
-
I was hoping for an earlier release date but I’ll wait for the retail release of the ships.
-
Sprue pics will really be the deciding factor for me as whether or not to pick these up.
I loved the TV series and I'm willing to pay a premium for Expanse figures, but they've got to be good. Renders aren't enough but I like what I'm seeing so far. Really hoping to see even more options for unarmed figures.

Yeah, I was surprised by the number with weapons as well. Even the toolbag has a belt of bullets poking out of it. Hopefully there are some more general worker type accessories on the sprue

I have been pleased with most of WGA's stuff. Some of it is wonky though.....The Raumjager are a little thick in their proportions. The Einherjar are nice. The Grognards have bad poses. The Bulldogs are excellent. The kit I really had hopes for, the Ooh Rah are awful. The legs look like the trooper is wearing either hip waders or garters, and the arms make them look emaciated. I was told the garters are a harness the troops are wearing, but if you look, you see no connectors. They are garters.
I also got their goblins and they are a nice kit. I am about to do some lizardmen, which come with parts to make them fantasy, Victorian or Sci Fi.
WGA are also redoing the Iron core line from Moondragon minis. Very nice figures.
I am hopeful someone somewhere will do good Future space infantry in plastic someday.
