I’m hesitant to post on this board - there’s so much skill and expertise on show that’s way above my level. However, I was quite pleased with this little path which only took 20 minutes to do.
The base was a bit of this:

Scrap cork board
Then by adding some of these:

Very useful item recommended by Matakishi
And a handful of these:

We end up with is:

A minor piece of scenery but very quick and easy which are two prerequisites for me :)

Wonderful Doug! Consider your ideas duly stolen when the Cornishman’s man cave reopens shortly. Cheers Roo
-
Don't hesitate. Very solid, effective build and techniques.

Looks great and does the job 8)

Yeah, I’ll echo the others, that turned out quite well. I would be pretty happy to have more of my gaming terrain looking like that.
-
Thanks everyone. It really was very easy and quick.
This is what I did it for:

A path leading to a greenhouse which is nurturing some very strange plants. :)
Roo - are you now living in Cornwall?

I'd be more worried about the sentient lawnmower ... its cut the grass, now its looking for something else to mow...

Quick and easy and looks great. Perfect project.

That looks great!

:D That’s a scary thought!

Thank you both. I’m thinking maybe I need a patio now :)

Quite nice, and it gives me some inspiration for a similar project that I have in mind.

Alas not Doug, the Cornishman’s man cave is moving to Hereford.
-
A lovely bit of work, I need something doing like that in 1:1 scale, if you can spare a few days!
-
Seems, almost too simple - you're not leading us down the garden path on this are you?
-
Nice work. :)
I remember a sentence in a book at school when they were trying to teach us to speak English (to us French native speakers) “there is a thrush in the path“. lol

I’m not going to beat about the bush. No :D

Thanks, Patrice.
And that’s a very weird expression they were teaching you. It sounds like a double entêndre (as we say in English ;) )

Perhaps the teacher was an old SOE agent. Sounds like an announcement from the BBC in 1944.
“There is a thrush in the path” and suddenly everyone is dashing for the muster point as the invasion is coming!
-
Lovely! :-*
And it uncannily reminds me of my grandfather's garden. Which is a good thing actually :)
-
Love it, Doug! Definitely could use this in a number of periods. :-*

:)The geese are flying low tonight ;)

Thanks and maybe appropriate considering that I am a grandfather. I limit my gardening activities to toy soldier size however. :)

Thanks Mike, I’m glad you like it. I agree- it’s pretty flexible in terms of period and genre.

Well, worthwhile to post - and your hesitancy is why I encourage "lesser" talents to not be afraid to show their work. Sure, there are truly spectacular modelers here on LAF - but the goal should be "fun and effective" first and only "top quality" second. And your work is definitely not lesser. Reminds me of David Brin's work The Practice Effect, essentially a book built from the phrase "practice makes perfect". Pretty great practice on your path. Keep it up - and keep sharing. We "lesser mortals" appreciate the effort! ;)
