Title: Osgiliath Bases for ruins.
Post by: Chillyray on 17 September 2024, 04:59:21 PM
I just finished some bases for the ruins in the Osgiliath starter set for MESB! I am happy with the result. They are made from thin MDF (back of old press) They add some heft to the models and provide a nice opportunity to add some scatter and debris. I used a stanley knife to score the inside footprint in 1/2 inch squares ( to match the existing floor tiles). I used pva and coarse sand to soften the edges. Here`s a few photos.

Fantastic. Just getting into MESGB myself and was considering picking this set up as it is so thematic and I like the terrain, but neither are factions that I would want to play long term to start, and with the new edition coming out I am holding off to see what starter set they release.

Those do look good! I think basing them is a good call, it helps blend them into the game surface. I alway find it a bit odd seeing unbased terrain that just seems contextless, like it’s a wall sitting on a golf green. Yours have great texture.

(This reminds me that I have a set partly built that I need to finish.)
