Again working from an idea of what I want the interior to look like. I am looking for dilapidated, chaotic clutter. Starting off with the larger pieces of furniture. All of it is made with mat board, stencil paper, match sticks and coffee stirrers. Lots of bits and scratch built parks tucked in.

Very much so! I love the little details….great job!
-
Great collection of bits and bobs :)
-
The fact that all of that is scratch built is amazing! :o
Awesome looking stuff. So, do you store your building furnishings inside the building when it is not on the tabletop, or do you have a separate "scatter" drawer? Just curious...

Thank you all for the nice words.

Not all of it. Lots of bits mingled in there.

I did the latter with all of my sci-fy terrain. For my fantasy terrain I am build everything with dedicated interiors. It is all glued in place, however I use the open space in the buildings to store scatter terrain for the streets.

Great and convincing clutter. I like that your witch has a crossbow for times when cursing isn’t enough.
-
Awesome scratchbuilding again!
There's quite a menagerie of small furry animals there, even a raccoon on the bed...
And what looks like an Antwerp chained down next to the gardening tools?
-
Damn your work just keeps on getting better! :-* :-* I hate sounding like a fanboy but there is so much to fanboy about! All that great pottery, and the animals......and a brain with chicken legs, and everything painted in a restrained almost menacing palette. Yup, these are going to look great on the table.
-
Wow, amazing inside out building. And the details are stunning
-
Thank you all for the kind words.
One of the folks in my club said I am building doll houses now. My counter argument is that everyone loves to play on beautiful tables. I always felt let down when the interiors of buildings were either not represented with sealed buildings or under represented with little or no interior details. I figure if I am going to spend the time making it so you can enter a building that I should try to make the interior at least as good as the exterior. The trick is always to make it playable.
And what looks like an Antwerp chained down next to the gardening tools?
What is an Antwerp? I could not find a reference that made sense on the google.

There is a few witches who live in hovels in Cwmbran

Snitcythedog those are lovely, must look great on the table - I fully agree with your approach and the beautiful results.

Luckily the copious roundabouts and labyrinthine road network stop them escaping! Or that’s the witches at work, obfuscating the right path and making me regularly struggle to leave the place in a timely manner!

This stuff is insanely good, I love it. And I was wondering what an Antwerp is also?

Good find. It certainly looks like it. I found it here: https://www.checkpointminiatures.co.uk/shop/totem/ (https://www.checkpointminiatures.co.uk/shop/totem/) It is listed as a totem.

Yup; that's them... :D
I loved Quest for Glory back in the day and one of the more challenging monsters to beat was the Terrible Antwerp! Look up Beefcake's Quest for Glory thread in the It's Alive subforum over at the Workbench; I believe he also has one (but bigger ;) )

Looks like he sculpted it!! Very nice work.

My wife volunteered over at Silverstone for the weekend. Unsupervised and without a definite honey-do list I had some time to pretty much finish up the hovel. Box construction out of textured fomex. Detailed with card, match sticks and coffee stirrers. I am not entirely happy with the hole in the roof as it looks off. I think it really needed to be a bit more distressed. Exterior weathering will have to wait as I need it for a game at the club tomorrow. I also need to take the shiny off some spots of glue that are showing and add some weathering to the hole in the rug to make it stand out better. Those will be a quick fix.
Exterior shots first.
Photos of only two sides as the other two are blank walls.

That looks a superb interior, but I just wondered why you went for a flat roof, I don't know what period you are gaming but wondered why not a normal roof, thatched or tiled. Presumably it's to do with the ethos of your setting but I'm curious.
Anyway, superb. :D

Thank you for the compliment. It is for a fantasy city setting so I am happy with the flat roves. They also help me stuff more buildings into fewer containers to drag down to the club to play. That is the same reason that I don't do much exterior detail. It can be added on with custom made scatter.
-
Excellent stuff! Now, if my Aunt Betty is anything to go by, what you need is 4 decades worth of newspaper articles scattered around the place and a heavy misting of cat urine and you have nailed it! o_o
