I picked up DITDC at a show recently, a set of rules I'd always liked the look of.
I have to say I like how they read. I've played a few sets of Chris Peers stuff over the years (notably a lot of Contemptible little armies) and had great fun.
This got me wondering if anyone had used them for space 1889 or similar.
The basic troop types are easy (British infantry as is, use zulus for martians maybe)
Its the more exotic stuff. Steam tanks, tripods, flyers
Has anyone already tried it?
I'm sure I could come up with my own stuff but its always good to look at what others have done.
Any help/thoughts appreciated.

Reskins are easiest. VSF is all just a reskin of historical periods no matter which rules you use. Fistful of Lead: Bigger Battles will do what you need, plausible and balanced even if you have javelin throwing four armed Nativetribals and steam-propelled, electro-gatling gun batteries of Her Magesty’s Royal Martian Hussars on the table. Tweaks are easy..

Cheers for that. I do like fistful of lead, great rules but haven't tried the bigger battles. May buy them for a look.

JUST in case you missed it elsewhere, Jaye has a VSF version of FFoL scheduled for November; alas. I don't recall if the pre-sale sale is still on or not. Edit: Definitely passed.
He does say it's a big book, with all you mentioned.

Missed that completely.

LAF never fails to deliver.

My plan as well, when pdfs are available. My only gripe with FFOL: BB is it is very bloody. Units can evaporate in a single volley. Easy to tweak though.

Just got the news that my copy with card deck is in the post and should be here Monday.
I think I am a bit giddy...
