Ok, so I know I am overthinking..
I was looking at my pile of unpainted AB NWE British and have begun to think about how to paint them.
Then I started thinking about CanLoan Officers.
Does anyone paint officers in Canadian battledress to represent these chaps? I was just thinking that it might make an interesting contrast…

The colour difference would be pretty subtle. If you've ever watched " Dad's Army ", Mainwaring wears Canadian BD, the others wear British BD. The slightly greener Canadian outfit is only noticeable when you look for it.

Thank you Tony.
In that case, it’s a great idea I can happily bin…

Further to Tony's comment; As soon as they arrived as a Canloan officer, they'd be plugged straight into the British Army supply system. Admittedly, officers would have private tailoring, but they'd probably use the same tailor as their brother officers in the regiment to which they'd been assigned.
(The same was true of 1 Canadian Para Bn - they were also to be supplied from British sources)

Thanks Mark. I’d assumed they would keep their Canadian uniforms

They'd only have what they arrived with, then it would be British sources of supply unless they could make private arrangements. There was a formal agreement regarding this, in order to simplify the supply situation for Canadian personnel serving with British units and formations (the largest concentration of whom was 1 Canadian Para Bn in 6th Airborne Division, but it also applied to CANLOAN).

There were several CANLOAN Occifers in 1st AB Div too. One item they did try and hang onto were their American jump boots, much comfier that our boots. Issued to them after Jump training in the USA.
