A pretty straightforward and simple question about Chain of Command.
Can you play with multi-based figures?
I have plenty of 15mm WW2 but they are based for Crossfire (3 figs per base) and I wondered if that was compatible with Chain of Command.
Cheers

You can play that way with casualty markers. Many people have gun teams or mg teams multi based.

Not sure tbh. Figures mounted on individual bases have to be cleverly placed to allow the max number of firing minis in particular positions. Multibases can give you problems wiring this out.

We played with multi-based figures for the basic rifle squads (5 figures) and for MG teams 2 or 3 figures (this was using 10mm figures). NCOs etc single based.
Eventually I went with pairs of riflemen as it allowed the squad to spread out rather more.
So I think your bases of 3 figures will work fine. With the addition of some single command figures.

Yes should be fine as long as you are playing with grown ups, if your opponent is difficult or tiresome then there could be some pedantic issues. I’ve only ever played with individually based minis but my opponent has used multi based (and mixed them) and we’ve never had a problem. The biggest issue is you can’t spread them out or position them as nicely - nothing serious.

I started with 3 figures to a base with my Crossfire figures and other than finding a simple way to record casualties there were no issues. Some people get up tight about exact figure placement but we assume these are static models and in the real world men in the same squad/section don’t shoot each other in the back of the head 🙄

Yes, it works fine. My 20mm stuff is mostly based 3 or 2 figures to a base for Crossfire, Battlefront:WW2 et al. I also have plenty of single sifugres, enough to make change as needed.
Firing is all unit to unit; no need to worry about where each figure is (also speeds up the game)

Well, it sounds like there's a few other Crossfire players who also play Chain of Command.
Good to hear.
I'll crack on then.
