Check 'em out...

They look emminently paintable dont they. I just hope they fit in with the "rules" sets ;)

While having a clear out I found some weathering powders I bought ages ago and never used. Instead of binning them I decided to keep them and use them on a vehicle of some kind, the next day these come out.
It's gotta' be God's work :D
-
Very nice but at that price? :o

You're right Brother Bugsda. The Lord works in mysterious ways... ;)
I felt the same a couple of weeks ago when I posted saying what a great shame that Copplestone had never done Zulus for any of his Darkest Africa ranges... And bugger me, within 3 days, Foundry announces DA Zulus - which, let's face it - are Copplestones with a bit of titivation.
You couldn't make it up.
Happily :D

I fear the day I´ll hear the price for the Independent, yet I´ll most probably HAVE to buy one. I wanted a model of the Independent ever since I first saw a picture of it in 1992, and that one looks so nice that I would like to forego the trouble of building one from scratch.
Less so for the Medium MkIII. That one´s somehow "Meh"-dium in my book, and I think 32 Pounds is a bit stiff for that.
-
Will probably end up getting both - but the new BEF Miniatures FCM 2C (on Crouchie's blog) is bigger, AND cheaper at £25 (but limited in its initial production run).
:)

Nice find... very nice indeed. So many possibilities with these..
Now, if only he'd do some of the British vehicles that were actually exported...

Or even saw active service.
I know I will buy one of each, because well, it's my favourite period for AFVs and I've long wanted to game the crushing of the US army on the plains of Canada by the Experimental Mechanised Force but I do wish he would do some useful Light tanks for India and the Middle East.
-
Pretty nice looking tank. Maybe one day??
-
my oh my.....
these are gorgeous
I agree that they are not cheap, but compared to some plastic kits... (not GW ;))
lol lol lol lol lol lol lol
this is funny:
"Medium Mark III
The disappointments in the A6 design led to that a new design, the "Medium Mark III", was being constructed in 1930.[2] It was similar to the A6 design but featured a new turret and improved armor. Still, the designed suffered from its bad suspension design. Three Mark IIIs were built, one by Vickers and two by the Royal Ordnance Factory at Woolwich. However no orders followed due to its high price."

So we have to buy only three? :-*

If nothing else, I suspect that the Independent would make an excellent tank for my Quar royalists;)

-
both tanks of course fit eccelently in with Your Euzkadi 8) ;)
-
If you're interested in 'what if's', they are the tanks to get for the British. I do see the point of people asking for other vehicles though. There were numerous other vehicles which were used (Light tanks Mks 1-5, various other Vickers designs etc), which would be more common, even if these vehicles had seen service.
Given the size of the models, the price is probably fair (out of my price range though), when you consider that a Vickers Light tank is £16 from another manufacturer.
They are attractive kits and like BEF's Char 2C, will be quite intimidating on table. :)
-
I need an Independent. I have no idea what I'd use it for, but I need one.

On a similer note, I demand someone puts together a game involving Copplestone's Independent, BEF's Char 2C and JTFM's Neubaufahrzeug. Consider the awesomeness.
-
VBCW, what else?
with French foreign Legion and German EC as interventionists.
Imagine Bosworth field:
A Squadron of Independents and Vickers MKIII rumble through the smoke.
Suddenly the command Tank receives an engine hit. The hatch pops up, Out comes Richard shouting:
A Horse, Dammit, my kingdom for a bloody Horse!
or not? :D

I'd take my chances against any of them with a 2pdr or 45mm AT Gun troop/platoon. For all their size and beast-ness, they are poorly armoured against such weapons. ;)
I've often pondered a 1930's Britain vs France scenario and I must admit seeing these square off against each other would be quite awesome... if not a little long-winded as I doubt they would make much impression on each other. lol
-
Just got the mail that the Independent is now available and weighs in at 35 GBP. Not that bad and better value than the Medium III, methinks.

You have, I hope, seen the 1995 version of Richard III (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114279/) starring Ian McKellen as Dick Three, right? Set in an alternate 1930s, after an English Civil War? The "My kingdom for a horse" line involves a malfunctioning jeep there.
Actually, the armoured vehicles were among the weakest parts of that movie. The actors were superb, the set dressings were awe-inspiring, the aircraft, trains and cars were all period-correct... but most of the military vehicles were American WW2 stuff, or even post-WW2 Russian armour. American halftracks instead of Bren carriers, American Jeeps in several scenes, that sort of thing. A bit disapointing, but still a great film.
-
course I seen it
I'm not that imaginative ;)
I'm a big fan of Dick III, and have seen many adaptations - this one is my favourite so far
as to the tanks, well
hard enough to finance a movie - I've seen far worse compromises than these.
We can be satisfied there were at least some tanks rolling through the frame, so I don't give much about them being "too late"
after all, this was not a Steven Spielberg project :)

Even before then mate. I'm lucky enough to have one of these, it's on the painting table and it's intimidating the hell out of my BUF playing son already.
For those who don't know it:

Part of a very fine range of course: http://www.befminiatures.co.uk/ (http://www.befminiatures.co.uk/)

I also have a BEF Char 2C and I can confirm the model is truly intimidating
-
Got mine this week.No idea what I'm going to do with it.Maybe 1940 "what if they got in combat".Truly nice model and huge! Can't wait for him to get the Char Bs in resin.

Moif mate - WOW!
That's an excellent collection, very nicely painted and great to see them all together. The only one I hadn't heard of or seen is the Disney "Indy". I imagine that's out of production? I did a quick google and it revealed... your blog. ::) Got any details you might share please?
I've got E,G & I and was worrying I might have overdone it... Did BEF's Morris CS9 LAC not appeal to you?
Meanhile it's time for me to go count the pennies as you've done a really good job of making the four Copplestone vehicles look vital.
-
The Disney tank is a discontinued toy, sold under the name 'Indiana Jones, Micro Action Tank'. I have three of them and I'm looking for a fourth to make up a squadron. The model requires some slight modification as it is a childs toy and it has plastic wheels underneath which have to be removed.
The only place you can find them these days is on e-bay.
I haven't bought the BEF Morris CS9 LAC because I have not had any need for it, and also because I didn't know about BEF when I bought my Copplestone Rolls Royces. I usually only buy models I intend to use in a planned game (I made an exception with the Char 2C) and I have very little use for further British armoured cars.

The (resin) Indiana Jones tanks were on sale at Tactica Hamburg last weekend. Pardulon still has them.

It might be that they are not for general sale, but you can enquire directly via the website or by PM'ing user "Zafarelli" here on the LAF.
It's an excellent kit. I painted one when they were released for my Bolsheviks:
I added new gun barrels for my preferred look, but there are barrels provided with the kit.

How big is that Pardulon model?

Mine's in storage over in Germany, but I recall it to be ca. 7-8 inches long. Here's a picture with a bunch of 28mm scale (Copplestone) Bolsheviks:

It looks wider than the models I have (just acquired a fourth on e bay), but more generic. It looks like a real monster!
-
Hey I just picked up my fourth on Ebay :)But missed out on a fifth was that you? lol
They sure go for a variety of prices, mine ranged from $5,$6,$15 to $20.Havn't gotten any yet, hope I like them.

Could have been me. I won an auction last night against two other people.
The most expensive I've picked up was $73 (thats including international p&p), but prices are deceptive since the Danish Kroner is often at an advantage over other currancies. I've never yet lost an auction on e-bay as a result.
I'll stop buying them now I have four so you need not fear any more competition from me.
-
I need one, not want, but need one...however none on e-bay and can't find anything on the Pardulon site :'(

As said, I think Zafarelli *might* have some left, even if they are no longer for general sale. Either send him a PM here or a mail via the website.

Blimey!!! That's a big tank. I've got a JTFM Neubaufarzeug on order and I already feel inadequate! ;)
-
Hello. Ahah, I can reveal my true likeness!
That's an impressive collection Tadders. Are you going to get the latest Copplestone jobbies?
-
I'm curious now. What do you need it for?
World domination?

I saw them and bought the T1E2 Light Tank. But, it really is the T1E3 Light Tank!
-
I came across another Indy tank on e-bay for any one in the states; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/INDIANA-JONES-ACTION-FLEET-MICRO-ACTION-CHAR-B1-TANK-/390247128859?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5adc8a9f1b

I know it never "officially" went further than prototype, but reckon i maight be using one of the T1E2 tanks in Spain, as a donation from Hemingway to the boys in the Abreham Lincoln Brigade. It sure is prurdy!
