Does anyone have more information or pictures of the Foundry 28mm Early German figures with drinking horns? Foundry have had a look but cannot find them in their workspace. I have seen them on Ebay in an army for sale and also on You Tube in a very shakey video. I have one figure, picture attached, but would love to get hold of more one day especially this guy's partner.
Also after modern guys standing at lecturn etc who could be Kraftwerk....anyone with a suggestion there?
Cheers, Ben

I've never seen him before and I know the Foundry catalogue very well. I did however have a hiatus away from wargaming for a few years (until 2019) so maybe these limited editions were released then?

A friend of mine got this guy when he bought a horde of Early Germans a number of years ago. The sculpting of this figure is very similar in style, shape etc to the rest of the Copplestone Germans. This shaky video has an image of the other figure at around 49 seconds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhiiQf2pFbk&t=49s

I think Bigredbat has that guy as part of his wagon laager collection. If it's Foundry I don't think they don't have it now. If it's not Foundry he might know who made it.

@majorsmith, can you shed any light on this? I, too, would be interesting in some drinking ancient Germans if the mould is still around and in good shape.
-
This figure isn’t in the current range, could have been a giveaway back in the early 2000s, I will have a look and see if I can find it when we get back to work after Xmas
-
Thanks, mate. Appreciate it.
-
From memory they were about 3 figures who were included with the "hordes" - random box set for IIRC £60.
They were not available for general purchase IIRC.

That makes more sense.
But boy, do I miss the days of the Hordes and Collections..... Foundry when they were relatively cheap.

Well I’m sure they’ll be a production mould, so I will see if I can find it, run it, and if it’s okay get them back up on the website fingers crossed

That is a grand idea if possible as I would like to add some more Germanic infantry to my collection

Thank y'all! That is great to see a clear image of the second figure and to hear it might be possible. Just ordered 18 packs of Early Germans but I would be doing another order for sure.
Also I have started looking in the bits box for horns and matching them with suitable Early Germans......the baggage might be Oktoberfest themed!

Little update, it’s been a busy week at work but I managed to find and run the moulds! They seem okay, so hopefully, I can get these back up , not sure when, but will let you know, I also found another ancient German special , a child throwing stones. So hopefully get him back into production and for sale

Super. Any idea whether ‘Chucky’, the stone throwing tyke, will make it into the website at some point?
-
Should be up soon, just need a code for him I think but hopefully soon
-
Excellent. Ta very much.
-
Well, it has made a return ! They brought it back after I placed my order during the Christmas sale or I probably would have grabbed them. Neat figs.
-
Heads up that 'Chucky' (https://www.wargamesfoundry.com/products/vin015-ancient-civilian-boy?variant=55376655450494) is now on the Foundry website too.
Well played, majorsmith. Many thanks.

Nice - looks like more Germans are coming my way next Christmas. And a stone chucking hobbit version to boot! I painted up a Foundry German archer recently as a 1-off and it was a lovely sculpt.

No problem! I’m just working on getting a few other bits from old compendiums out at the moment

Sounds great. Spill the beans!

Hopefully some old Greek army collection exclusives 👍

Excellent. Please keep up your archaeological digging. It'll be interesting to see what you unearth.
