Took on a commission, for some Necrons, to be painted for tournament gaming.
First ten done, to get the colour scheme worked out.
-
It is a difficult task, with Necrons, to get an ancient yet lethal look to the warriors but I think you've definitely got it right there. Very nicely done, I do like the way you've done them.

Hey, thanks! AK metallics with GW contrasts. Simple!

Love the metallics on the weapons...! :-*

Thanks! AK Oily Steel, with GW Aeldari Emerald Contrast over - simple but works, eh?
-
Nice colors
-
Thanks Louie!
Another unit done…
-
The first ark, part one. It was built when I got it, which made it awkward to paint, but I pushed through. First part was to get the metallics on, contrasts to come later.
-
Now that is shinny. Well done
-
Thanks, Louie!
-
Ark is now done. Client has the base for it.
-
LOVE the colors...! :o :-*
Shame to give that beauty up... :'(

Thanks Mike! The guy said I could paint them “any way I wanted” - and I’ve always wanted to do metallic purple on something. Bingo! And purple works great with brown shades. Bronze it was.
There’s going to be a LOT of army here, eventually - probably 10 months worth of paintwork. He wants to have “one of every option” in the book. o_o
-
A unit of 10, and a unit of 5 Necron infantry finished today.
-
Another unit of Immortals, and Flayed Ones (these were not made by me, basically had greenstuff meat suits draped over them…).
-
Sounds like you will be painting a lot of Necrons this year! Looking good so far.

Thanks!
So … many … Necrons o_o
-
Very nice. I play necrons and my doomsday arc tore through some sneaky eldar a week or so ago, then took the brunt of their fire. Youve done a great job on these guys.

Hey thanks! The Ark are cool models - tricky to paint when built…
-
The last of the infantry for this batch, some Immortals with shields.
Shields highlighted with 2:1 AK Dark Platinum/Emerald Green Metallic.
-
The infantry are the best part of the Necron range. Good work on these.

Thanks again, Louie! They were supplied “built” and had seen paint and primer before I got them - to say they were rough would be an understatement!
Not unhappy with the end result for the work I put in!
-
WIP Monolith.
Airbrushed AK metallics, then GW Contrasts - details next …
-
Army to date group shot.
-
I like the final shot of the monolith. Nice highlighting.

Thanks! It was so awkward to paint - I kept moving it around and around - and the lines were like painting a gas tank for a motorcycle; but once done, I’m happy with it.
-
Cairn Wraiths! Super freaky looking models…
-
Those are very cool! Great paint job on them!! :-*

Great work, I love the colour palette!
I never noticed before, but the overall structure of the is like the face-huggers in Alien - the combination of the prehensile tail, insect-like legs, and oval body. Those features are an unpleasant combination, perfect for an alien (or robotic) enemy.

Thanks! Yeah, these are CREEPY, for Necrons. They were a lot of fun to paint, unlike the monstrosity of the Monolith.
-
Finished a trio of Necron walkers.
The smaller one is the Canoptek Reanimator whilst the bigger two are Canoptek Destroyers!
-
Szarekh the Silent King - throne and side pieces WIP
-
Your painting is truly amazing. The color choices are fantastic. 👍🏼

Here’s … Sarekh!

Many thanks! The client said “pick any colours you want” - so bright and fun it is! Dark Necrons are just so Terminator lol
-
The largest of the single character figures, the C’Tan.
This was my first time painting GW’s “Finecast”, and I hope it will be my last. The scythe felt like it was both too bendy but might break anytime. Lots of little miscasts on the figure. I did my best.
-
The final five characters of the first batch.
-
Oh, that is a very snazzy colour scheme!

Thank you very much, sir! I wanted bright and different - probably like your Storm
Cast look great in dark and foreboding… :D
-
Received Batch 2 for this commission.
Some of the models were so dust covered I actually had to wash them before I even considered painting …
-
They brought joy when someone brought them. With your paint job they will bring joy again.

Indeed! I somewhat enjoy the resurrection process of this. Yes, it does take work, but the end result has been very rewarding!
-
Happy resurrecting, looks as if a few of us are in the recovery of "previously unlovedTMmodel" business.
Best of luck :D

Thanks!
Progress today, primed about 60% of what I have to work with. Enough to start painting after the primer cures.
-
Better already :D
-
Have a bit of a cold, so a quick job on six swarm bases, just to say I got something done. Off to have a nap. lol
-
cute little guys

Ten more Warriors and three things I can’t remember the name of …
2025 total minis painted now at 108!

>:D
A couple of weeks ago I purchased a couple of boxes wit a LOT of stuff in them.
Among it, quite a bunch of painted Necrons, and after a few quick repairs I already have a small skirmish force of 15 Warriors and 2 Pariahs for my current 'Warriors of the 41st Millennium' project.

Only 93 more to go to catch me!

Bringing battered models back to life is rewarding! Keep it up!
-
I actually find that it is almost more fun finding cheap batches of used minis and get them sorted for the table than painting new ones.

Not my thing, but I don’t mind painting others’ treasures back to life!
Skorpekh and Ophydian Destroyers:
-
I like what you did with the blades. Are these a commission or yours?
-
A pair of very killy looking Skorpekh Lords finished today!
-

Commission! A tourney player who doesn?t paint much. Three batches to do, almost done the second.
Thanks - it?s AK oily steel base, then GW Aeldari Emerald contrast, followed by edge work in AK Luminous Green.
-
Huge and very flimsy model, was still ok to paint. Always felt like it would snap!
-
Very cool. Looks super flimsy as you say. I wish GW didn't do that with their minis.

Thanks! In a strong wind, it moves like a bobble head?

Just caught up on this thread - what a great army this is going to be / already is!
Do you think these were being played with as they have come to you, and now the owner is committing some money into getting them looking top notch? Or do you think he?s just buying up stuff to have a new army?
Either way it will like mighty impressive on the table.
The last model really does look like a lace work of string holding up a figure - how that will ever survive travelling to games then being played with!!

Thanks! The owner bought all the models, some in rough condition, I have rehabbed them; he
is planning on waiting until the army is complete, and then it will make its appearance - I?m really looking forward to seeing a whole army shot, together.
The fragile lace C?Tan is going to have to have its own foam home, I think a breeze could topple it lol
-
Will be an impressive unveil for him then!
-
Will be an impressive unveil for him then!
He?s got about half the models already, I?m going them in batches - almost finished the second round, and there should be one more.
Speaking of which?
A C?Tan Deceiver and a C?Tan Transcendant finished today.
-
The gold and purple go well. Nice

Thanks! It?s a theme for the army, along with a green for weapons.

Back to Necrons after a week of painting Victrix 12mm WW2.
WIP of 5 Destroyers, a Lord, a Lokhust Lord, and a VERY vintage all-metal Spider (so heavy!).
-
Five destroyers.
One destroyer lord.
One Lokhust lord.
And a vintage, all metal Cairn Spider (ooooh - metal!).
-
Luvverly!
-
Your color choices are always amazing...
Mike Demana
-
Thanks Argonor and Mike! I wanted colour for this army, and the client said “do what I want”. I like it when a plan comes together! lol
Cheers guys!
-
A challenging model to paint; lots of stuff obscured by other stuff lol
I removed the main character to paint separately which freed up a lot of areas to see and paint. Turned out well, I think.
-
More great stuff. I have the old spyder as well. The new one is head and shoulders better.
-

Thanks! Yes, but there is something about the sheer weight of that old spider - if thrown, it would be dangerous! lol
-
Two Doom Scythes, the big flyer for the Necrons. Kind of fun to paint; broke out the airbrush for the large flat surfaces to get an even bronze coat.
-
Only three to paint, so I got these done today, too.
Tomb Blades, Necron skimmers.
-
I like the metallic green and brass combo - it looks very good.

Thank you! GW contrast over base metalics - good results, quickly!
-
I wouldn't have thought the colour scheme would work if I saw it spelled out, but the purple / green / copper tones work really well on these guys, and they look very different to any necrons I've seen before. Great work, it's nice seeing your progress.
-
Probably one of the coolest models in the Necron range, the heavy support weapon wielding Triarch Stalker. The two front legs are poseable. The model does not have a base, and apparently the tournament guide says no base.

Hey, thanks! It was a bold choice, I agree - I usually will paint ten basic troops to get a scheme down, and I liked this one - and more importantly, the client does! To see the army all together will be cool. I think he’s using it at a tourney in July?
-
Love the stalker.
-
Love the stalker.
Many thanks!
Here’s the final model of the second batch.
One of the creepiest Necron models, this bio-scientist is like a necromancer who sucks the living energy from his victims for his experiments.
model 224 for the year, end of batch 2.
